ELCA‘s United Lutheran Seminary to host “out and proud" transgender advocate: “She is a father…”2/13/2023 (The following article was written by Rev. Tom Brock of pastorsstudy.org. You can follow Pastor Brock on Facebook - here and Twitter - here.)
In a previous post I shared that a practicing homosexual, who was also the first gay bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, is now president of the ELCA’s United Seminary in Pennsylvania. United Seminary is advertising that it will host a transgender advocate to speak at its “Transgender and Lutheran” webinar. This man who presents himself as a woman (an “out and proud trans woman”) is called “she” by United Seminary: “Dr. Stephanie Dykes is the father of a 29-year-old son, and she sings bass with the Seattle Men’s Chorus”. I am not making this up. Tap on the below link to see United Seminary’s ad and how bizarre the ELCA has become. I encourage you that if you are still a member of this denomination, it is time to take your money, time, and talents and join a biblical denomination which you can support. You may be wondering what "Extravaganza" is. The ELCA Youth Ministry Network website tells us it is "...the annual gathering of children, youth and family ministry leaders from across the ELCA." (see here)
So it is a conference for people in the ELCA who teach youth of all ages. Below are a few of the workshops at last weeks Extravaganza 2023:

In the video below, the bishop of the Lower Susquehanna Pennsylvania Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America makes a plea that Lutherans should become allies of the transgender movement. Lately the ELCA teaching seems to be that men who identify as women don’t need to repent, we who believe something is wrong with that do. The ELCA used to be liberal, now it is radically so. If you are still a member, it is way past time to leave for a more biblical denomination. In Christ, Pastor Tom Brock (The following article was written by Rev. Tom Brock of pastorsstudy.org. You can follow Pastor Brock on Facebook - here and Twitter - here.) The USA Today headline reads “LGBTQ bars are ‘community centers’ and hallowed spaces…”. The articles quotes Nicole Garcia, a transgender pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. This is a man who presents himself as a woman. The article says that Nicole felt safe at a drag bar where he was taught how to do his nails, style his hair, and apply makeup (although the article used female pronouns for Nicole which I cannot in full conscience do).
. The below 20 second video says it all. This is the moral compass the ELCA is offering to the world, Tragic. If you are still part of the ELCA, time to flee from this denomination. In Christ, Pastor Brock https://youtube.com/shorts/HUW4rUMkQgQ?feature=share
The ELCA views transgenderism as something to be celebrated. See below for Facebook statements made this week by the ELCA on the official ELCA account.
The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America is hurting those that struggle with understanding and accepting their given sex/gender. (The following article was written by Rev. Tom Brock of pastorsstudy.org. You can follow Pastor Brock on Facebook - here and Twitter - here.) Who knew that there is an international day celebrating people who don’t identify as male or female? And who knew that some congregations of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America would celebrate it? Well, I guess I did. The ELCA supports abortion rights, homosexuality, and transgenderism, so why not this?
Especially deceiving is that it states “power can come from knowing who you are”. But, tragically, non-binary people don’t know who they are, so they identify as neither male nor female. Jesus, on the other hand, said that God made us “male and female” (Matthew 19:4). In Christ, Pastor Tom Brock (see here)

The below church is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The biblical language of referring to God as “He” and “Father” is being challenged in many ELCA congregations which now also refer to God as “Mother”. This is because many “progressive” pastors think male language for God is oppressive and patriarchal. But Jesus taught us to pray to “Our Father who art in heaven”, never once to “Our Mother”. But these pastors seem to think they are better experts in language for God than Jesus Christ. And this is not just some radical individual church, the head Bishop of the whole ELCA has also prayed publicly to God as “Mother.” The person who sent me the below is concerned for her loved ones who attend this church. I would be too. If you are still a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, time to leave and join a denomination which unashamedly worships God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We cannot improve upon the teaching of Jesus Christ and people are arrogant who think they can do so. Sincerely in Christ, Pastor Tom Brock
(The following article was written a number of months ago by Rev. Tom Brock of pastorsstudy.org. Pastor Rohrer is no longer a bishop, which is a whole nother story itself. You can follow Pastor Brock on Facebook - here and Twitter - here.)
In the video below, the world’s first transgender bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America reads her children’s book to help children affirm transgenderism. Apparently, children should be free to choose whatever gender they please, regardless of their God-given anatomy. Bishop Rohrer is “married” to a woman and has two children. Rohrer refers to herself as “they.” Before 2009, a pastor engaging in lesbian behavior would have been disciplined by the ELCA. Today “they” are made a bishop. If you are still in the ELCA, time to run from this denomination. In Christ, Pastor Tom Brock (The following article was written by Rev. Tom Brock of pastorsstudy.org. A year ago the very liberal Evangelical Lutheran Church in America elected the world's first transgender bishop. This is a woman who looks like a man and who wants to be called "they". Now, she (I refuse to say "they") has been asked to step down by the very, very liberal head bishop of the ELCA. You will see in head Bishop Elizabeth Eaton's letter (linked) below, Eaton is very willing to call this singular woman "they". The transgender bishop was not asked to step down because transgenderism denies who God creates people to be, but because she allegedly mishandled a situation with an Hispanic church. In our sad age of sexual confusion, it is tragic that the ELCA leads the way in confusion by electing a transgender bishop to begin with, and then consistently referring to her as "they". In Jesus our Savior, Pastor Tom Brock PS In September at the transgender bishop's installation service, Bishop Eaton prayed to the "Father, Son and Holy Spirit" also as "Parent, Child, and Holy Breath" and "Rain, Estuary, and Sea" (Here) is Bishop Eaton's press release about the situation
A bishop in the ELCA is teaching that the three faithful Jewish followers of God; Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, whom we read about in Scripture (Daniel 3), were transgender slaves.
The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America bishop Megan Rohrer, is transgender. And in a Facebook post last weekend, she shared her youtube video of her retelling this story. The video is titled "Transgender slaves Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego Follow God When Fancy People Do Not." (See here) In one part of the Bishop's retelling of the story the ELCA bishop talks about Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego eating different foods than the others in the King's court saying, "they were able to get away with it because their bodies continued to please the king and others in the court who liked to look at them and probably other stuff" How can any faithful follower of Jesus remain in a denomination whose leaders are twisting and teaching falsely God's Word?
The ELCA's Greater Milwaukee Synod Bishop, Paul Erickson, wrote a letter a couple weeks ago "Affirming our LGBTQIA+ Siblings". (See the Facebook post at the end of the blog or here)
As Christians we need to love people. But the ELCA is making a detrimental mistake encouraging thoughts that go against what God has said. It is NOT an act of love encouraging people to believe their desire for sexual relations with someone of the same sex or their wanting to be anything other than their gender is "good" or is "God's will." God did not make people homosexual. God did not make people one gender at birth and want them to live as the opposite gender. Encouraging people to live out their sinful desires is detrimental to spiritual and physical and mental health. Satan has deceived so many and he has religious leaders encouraging destructive behavior. (The following article was written by Rev. Tom Brock of pastorsstudy.org. Below you may read the entire story of church leaders praising the election of a woman who presents herself as a man. Megan Rohrer was elected as a bishop in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and Rohrer likes to use the pronoun "they" to refer to herself. Here is praise from Reverend Mark Holmerud, the retiring ELCA bishop she replaced: “My prayers will be with Bishop-Elect Rev. Dr. Megan Rohrer as they prepare to take leave of their current ministry and assume the role of bishop for our Sierra Pacific Synod, I am confident that they will be blessed by the people of our synod through prayer as they serve..., May God’s peace and guidance of the Spirit be with Bishop-Elect Rev. Dr. Megan Rohrer as they serve and lead in our midst. They will build on the pandemic experience and move the Sierra Pacific forward.” This nonsense of calling a single person "they" is further evidence that much of the ELCA has adopted the LGBT agenda of doing away with traditional, Biblical sexuality. Two years ago at the ELCA's national assembly it was commonplace for delegates at the microphone to announce their preferred pronouns before they spoke. Sexual confusion--from calling God "Mother" to ordaining practicing homosexual and transgender people--reigns in the ELCA. Sincerely in Christ, Pastor Tom Brock Read article here. Once biblical Lutheran congregation about to hire transgender pastor, “guided by the Holy Spirit"2/15/2022
(The following article was written by Rev. Tom Brock of pastorsstudy.org. You can follow Pastor Brock on Facebook - here and Twitter - here.)
Many years ago the senior pastor, now deceased, of Roseville Lutheran Church in Minnesota would stand with us conservative pastors against the heresies that were invading the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. That was before 2009, when the ELCA officially voted to ordain practicing homosexual, bisexual and transgender pastors. Below you will see something that would make that senior pastor weep. Roseville Lutheran is about to hire a woman who identifies as a man as pastor. You will notice the first thing she (I can’t say “he”) tells people is that she is a “transman” and uses “he/him/his pronouns” and has a “husband”. If you watch the below video, the call committee explains “the Holy Spirit” guided them to choose this candidate. It sounds like it hasn’t been voted on yet, so please say a prayer that this once biblical congregation would follow Christ and not our confused culture. Sadly, this congregation is right in line with the ELCA which some months ago elected the world’s first transgender bishop. I'll say it again: If you care about the authority of Scripture, time to leave the ELCA, In Christ, Pastor Tom Brock For call committee video tap here (or see below): https://youtu.be/YF9UNUFl4DA "Greetings from Marty Hello! My name is Marty Wyatt and I am thrilled to join Roseville Lutheran as your Associate Pastor. I am a transman and use he/him/his pronouns – but that’s only one aspect of who I am. I grew up about an hour north of the cities on a small family farm and now live in North Minneapolis with my husband Tanner, our two dogs and two cats." (this greeting can be found here)

In the below worship service led by a transgender pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, this man who presents himself as woman says "The grace of Jesus the Christ, the love of God the Creator, and the communion of the queer-making Spirit be with you all." The creed in this service states "I believe in Jesus Christ, Sophia, the Word". "Sophia" is a feminine image for God that feminists use to worship the "Divine Feminine." Along the same line, God is referred to in the service as "The Divine Seamstress". This is the strange new world of the ELCA. One cannot say that the extremes of the below service are not shared by the ELCA's national leadership. ELCA Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton has made two gay pride videos and at the ELCA's Youth Gathering an 11-year-old boy who thinks he is a girl was put on stage to promote transgenderism to 31,000 Lutheran teens. At the installation of the ELCA's first transgender bishop, Bishop Eaton prayed to God as "Parent, Child and Holy Breath" and as "Rain, Estuary, and Sea". I hear from people periodically who say they stay in their ELCA congregation because they have been members so long and they would have to leave their friends. But sometimes Jesus says to leave and "shake the dust off your feet". I believe that time is now for Bible-believing Christians who are still in the ELCA and supporting it with their offering dollars and their presence. Our first allegiance is to Jesus, not to our friends nor to our denomination. Sincerely in Christ, Pastor Tom Brock 'National Day of Mourning' on Thanksgiving is on ELCA Synod's 'Notable events and observances'11/24/2021 The ELCA's Grand Canyon Synod has a page on their website titled "Prompts for Prayers of Intercession: November 21, 2021."
On this page, under "Other notable events and observances" was the listing "National Day of Mourning (November 25th)." See here or below. "The National Day of Mourning began in 1970 as a form of protest to the 350th anniversary celebration of the arrival of the Pilgrims." (See here) Also listed is "Transgender Day of Rememberance (November 20th)." |
