As many of you know, the ELCA is heavily involved in inter-faith work with other religions. Here’s the problem: I do not see the ELCA sharing the truth of salvation in Jesus with these people. The ELCA needs to love people enough to want them to be in heaven. Sadly, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America is falling short in loving their “lost“ neighbors. In these situations, the ELCA is failing as a church and has become a social club that simply does “good” works.
--------- If you believe in the ministry of Exposing the ELCA, would you partner with us? Please pray for our work. We are on the front lines of a battle, and Satan is not happy that we are carrying out God’s calling in this critical time. Satan wants people to remain in this denomination that has left the truth of God’s Word. We passionately believe that God wants Exposing the ELCA to inform and warn people as to the actions, decisions and teachings of the ELCA. Would you also prayerfully consider financially supporting the ministry of Exposing the ELCA? We would greatly appreciate your helping us to continue this ministry. (you can find “donate” buttons on www.exposingtheelca.com) --------- I would like to invite you to check out a new website called The Lutheran Life (www.thelutheranlife.com). This new website focuses on Christ, Lutherans, faith and life.

“Higher Standards — Higher Values — Lutheran Higher Education — There's a Difference, and it Lasts a Lifetime.” (quote from here) That is a statement from the official Evangelical Lutheran Church in America’s website describing “the 26 colleges and universities of the ELCA . . .” (quote from here)
I leave it to you to decide if the ELCA is living up to the above statement after reading the following: Muhlenberg College, an ELCA affiliated school, offers first year students a course called "Of Kings and Queens: Drag Theory and Performance." In a Muhlenberg College posted article entitled, “This class is a drag — and students love it,” it says this about the course, “The students in ‘Of Kings and Queens’ have spent the first three-quarters of the semester reading, writing and analyzing, discussing the politics of gender and sexuality, and coming to understand drag as a cultural phenomenon. But the highlight of the semester will be the final exam. (Assistant Professor Troy) Dwyer and all 15 of his students are planning a drag show, which they will perform for the public, Dec. 9 at the Stonewall. Dwyer says he believes the course is unique.” (read the whole article here) The two following links will take you to videos of the 2010 final exam student drag show. The first one is a group performance by the students (see here) This second video indicates it is of the assistant professor, Troy Dwyer’s drag performance. (see here) Lastly, here are some pictures from a website which documents, in the URL, that the pictures are of Muhlenberg students. The students and teacher in the above videos are the people in the pictures. (see here) Be warned, there are a few pictures with very sexual content. Before you send your children to an ELCA affiliated school, you should do some research into what the school is about. If you would like to read about more instances of “higher standards - higher values” at ELCA schools, go here and scroll down the page. The ELCA’s Presiding Bishop is "dismayed" that the United States did not side with another recent United Nations Security Council’s attempt to condemn Israel. Bishop Mark S. Hanson is in agreement with the 50 plus Muslim nations who are telling the Jews where they can live and build homes and where they can not. (read here)
First off, the Israelis own East Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria (or the West Bank) and Gaza because they won it in the Six Day War (1967), a battle where Arab armies first surrounded Israel, massing on their borders. (read here and here) Now the ELCA’s Presiding Bishop Mark Hanson is telling the Israelis that they are not allowed to live or build houses on the land they own. It’s crazy! I wonder if Bishop Hanson has told any other ethnic or religious group where they can build houses and live and where they cannot? The ELCA Bishop sounds like a mouth piece for the many anti-Semitic nations of the world. Read more about the ELCA’s view, statements and position on Israel. (here) Grace University Lutheran Church (ELCA) in Minneapolis, Minnesota, regularly opens its doors to Muslims so they can meet together for Muslim prayers. ELCA pastor, Mary Halvorson, says it’s a “wonderful way to support each other . . . We’re delighted that we can be a place of hospitality.” (read here)
God says in Exodus 20: 3-5 “You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them.” During the summer of 2010, the ELCA held a “Sharing the Gospel” Conference in which Muslim and Buddhist prayers were prayed. (see here) It is unwise and wrong for Christians to invite the worship and prayers to gods other than the Father/Son/Holy Spirit, into the “house of God.” But this is okay with the ELCA. It seems our denomination is doing everything possible to walk in opposition to what God tells us in Scripture. The ELCA has a real disregard for Scripture. If you doubt that's true, check out some of the links on these pages (here and here).
We need to hold Scripture in the same way the Bible tells us to hold it, or in other words, the way God tells us in Scripture. The Bible says. . . 2 Peter 1: 20-21 - "But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of ones own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God." John 10:35 - (Jesus said) ". . .the Scripture cannot be broken." Matthew 5:17, 18 - (Jesus said) "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished." Proverbs 30:5 - Every Word of God is flawless; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. Luke 16:17 - (Jesus said) ". . . It is easier for heaven and earth to disappear than for the least stroke of a pen to drop out of the Law." John 17:17 - (Jesus said) "Set them apart in the truth; your word is truth." Matthew 22:29 - "Jesus answered them, 'You are deceived, because you don’t know the scriptures or the power of God.'" Psalm 138:2 - I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word. Hebrews 1:1-2 - In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 - All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that everyone who belongs to God may be proficient, equipped for every good work. Isaiah 40:8 - The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever. Hebrews 4:12 - Indeed, the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing until it divides soul from spirit, joints from marrow; it is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Matthew 4:4 - Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'" Psalm 119:105 - Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. James 1:21-25 - Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does. John 8:31-32 - So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, "If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. Galatians 1:6-9 - I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel—not that there is another gospel, but there are some who are confusing you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should proclaim to you a gospel contrary to what we proclaimed to you, let that one be accursed! As we have said before, so now I repeat, if anyone proclaims to you a gospel contrary to what you received, let that one be accursed! Joshua 1:7-9 - "Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." Psalm 19:9-11 - The decrees of the LORD are firm, and all of them are righteous. They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb. By them your servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward. 1 Timothy 4:13-16 - Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you. Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers. Acts 17:11 - Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so. Jeremiah 23:29 - “Is not my word like fire,” declares the LORD, “and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces? Clearly God wants us to follow the words He gives us. We know God's words because He gave us the Bible. Please read the above verses again and take them to heart. Trust in what God says, not in what man, or the ELCA, says. What are your thoughts on this? Kids having fun obviously, but is it appropriate? Should it be happening at an ELCA college? I would think there were probably some young children attending the game who were subject to seeing this. Time to check out another video from the ELCA church that calls itself “Herchurch.” Be prepared to witness the breaking of the 1st Commandment, among other things. (the video is at the end of this blog) At the beginning of the video you will hear this - Congregation: Beloved Mother of wisdom, you are black and beautiful. ELCA Pastor Stacy Boorn: She is Queen and virgin, women onto herself. She is in violets, she is rising up. She is Mother, Mother of all, Mother of all that is. Congregation: Beloved Mother of wisdom, you are black and beautiful. At the 1:48 minute mark you will read that “Herchurch emphasizes dance, music and art as a form of worship to the Divine Feminine.” At the 2:48 mark you will see a painting of a topless pregnant women. Also starting at the 2:48 mark Evangelical Lutheran Church in America Pastor Stacy Boorn says, “Today we gather to be in the presence of that which is holy and good. Today we gather also to honor the black Madonnas who throughout history have been a reminder that our first Mother, the Mother of us all, our African Mother, our Mother Earth cries out from the stumps that are too often the remnant of a cut down life of (???). If you have never heard of this heretical ELCA church before, please check out these links. (see here and here) Maybe you are still an ELCA member, believing your friends who say your church will not be affected by the large array of ELCA actions and teachings which are against what God says in Scripture. You are wrong. The ELCA wants to influence our young people. If your congregation’s children are involved in ELCA-run youth events, they will be subject to the ELCA version of truth, not that of the Holy Bible.
Jay Bakker was a speaker at the 2009 Youth Gathering in New Orleans which was attended by 30,000 youth. (see here) Jay is a pastor and has boldly said, “It sounds so churchy, but I felt like God spoke to my heart and said ‘[homosexuality] is not a sin.’” (read here) How wise is it to put heretical teachers and leaders in front of your youth? The ELCA wants to indoctrinate your children so that these minors approve of and even celebrate sin. The effect of this teaching? Those stuck in sin will not know that Christ can free them from their sin. This teaching will also undermine the understanding that we can go to the Bible to hear from God and receive direction for our lives. See who else the ELCA invited to the 2009 ELCA Youth Gathering. (read here) Exposing the ELCA recently asked its readers this question, "What denomination do you belong to?"
Here are the results: ELCA 49.79% (121 votes) LCMS 12.76% (31 votes) WELS 3.29% (8 votes) LCMC 18.93% (46 votes) NALC 7.41% (18 votes) other Lutheran denomination 3.29% (8 votes) non Lutheran denomination 4.53% (11 votes) Total Votes: 243 The ELCA has placed their opinion over God’s Word. The denomination's actions and teachings show us that they place their own authority over God’s authority. They have made themselves god and that is idolatry. Not surprisingly this isn’t the only form of idolatry happening in the ELCA. ELCA church Ebenezer Lutheran, otherwise knows as herchurch, in San Francisco posted highlights from their Christ Sophia Mass in 2009 on youtube. Pastor Stacy Boorn opens the service this way, “Welcome to the Christ Sophia mass, the incarnation of she who is all wisdom. . .” At the 2:33 minute mark of the video you can view the singing of Silent Night, but notice the changing of the words, they sing “Christ Sophia is born, Christ Sophia is born.” At the 2:46 mark you can see the congregation sing and dance to a song called “Grandmother Song.” The lyrics are, “Oh, Grandmother, I see you sitting in the East. I pray to you. I pray to you. You are sacred And you are looking at me.” This is repeated with only minor variations of the words. At the 4:30 mark you can watch children sing to Christ Sophia, (to the tune of Angels From the Realm Of Glory) “. . . come (each?) worship, come (each?) worship, Christ Sophia sets us free.” During Holy Communion, at the 8:26 mark you can see Pastor Stacy Boorn mouth what looks to be, “Body of Christ Sophia for you.” This is not Jesus Christ they are worshiping. It is a different god. The ELCA knows full well what is happening at this church. They approve it and welcome it. (see here) Is God being honored in this? Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. - Ephesians 5:11
