“How can some pastors be in favor of homosexual behavior when the Bible is so clearly against it?”9/30/2021

I have heard that question more than once and the below video shows an attempt by a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America to make the Bible say what it doesn’t say. For 2000 years virtually all Christians have understood the Bible to be against homosexual behavior, but a new “woke” interpretation of Scripture has sprung up showing that all the Christians before us were in darkness and now we are enlightened. I don’t think so. I knew the pastor who served this congregation back in the 1990’s. He was a biblical, godly man. But today’s pastor below announces her preferred pronouns before sharing the new, “enlightened” interpretation of the Bible. This goes to show that a church can go from godly to awful in a matter of a few years if it has the wrong leadership. And this pastor— and the ELCA in general—is the wrong leadership. Sincerely in Christ, Pastor Tom Brock

Capital University, an Evangelical Lutheran Church in America school, will require students to be fully vaccinated by December 17, 2021. Capital University is located in Columbus, Ohio. (see article here)
The university will still require students to wear masks too, saying "Until further notice, everyone must continue to follow all University-required COVID health and safety protocols, including the University’s mask policy." Christ Lutheran Church in Blaine, Minnesota, is a congregation of the liberal Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. I stumbled upon the below from their website, which encourages everyone to announce their preferred pronouns when introducing them/their/him/her/itself. It also appears they will now avoid referring to God as "He." Whether the people at Christ Lutheran like it or not, God has revealed--dare I say it--Himself as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We are in no position to think we are so enlightened that we may correct God in His use of His preferred pronoun. Sincerely in Christ, Pastor Tom Brock From Christ Lutheran's website: This congregation wants to ensure that all people feel welcome at Christ Lutheran Church. For that purpose, a Welcoming Team was formed in 2020. Their work has begun, with a focus on ensuring that LGBTQ+ people have a safe space within the church, and to provide ways to be inclusive to the LGBTQ+ community... Last weekend, openly lesbian Brenda Bos was installed as bishop of the ELCA's Southwest California synod. Top bishop in the ELCA, Elizabeth Eaton, participated in the event and is seen in the line of clapping robed ELCA leaders walking into the service. Brenda Bos, wearing a rainbow (gay) stole, is especially happy as she dances lifting her hands in the air. (See video below)
The ELCA chooses people openly and unrepentantly living in sin to be leaders of their denomination. God wants to free people from sin, the ELCA tightens the chains of sin around them claiming it is not sin. It is time to get out from the teaching of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Watch the video below.
The ELCA's South-Central Synod of Wisconsin has a new "Assistant to the Bishop for Generosity." Rev. Peter Beeson, formally Rev. Rose Beeson (see here), is joining the synod staff.
This is the third known transgender person to be placed in a leadership position in the ELCA this year. The Sierra Pacific Synod of the ELCA elected transgender pastor Megan Rohrer bishop of their synod in May, 2021 (see here) and the East Central Synod of Wisconsin of the ELCA installed pastor Asher O'Callaghan as associate to the bishop, also in May . (See here) Theological liberals control the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. If you believe God's Word, it is time to get out of this denomination. |
