Below you may read the entire story of church leaders praising the election of a woman who presents herself as a man. Megan Rohrer was elected as a bishop in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and Rohrer likes to use the pronoun "they" to refer to herself. Here is praise from Reverend Mark Holmerud, the retiring ELCA bishop she replaced: “My prayers will be with Bishop-Elect Rev. Dr. Megan Rohrer as they prepare to take leave of their current ministry and assume the role of bishop for our Sierra Pacific Synod, I am confident that they will be blessed by the people of our synod through prayer as they serve..., May God’s peace and guidance of the Spirit be with Bishop-Elect Rev. Dr. Megan Rohrer as they serve and lead in our midst. They will build on the pandemic experience and move the Sierra Pacific forward.” This nonsense of calling a single person "they" is further evidence that much of the ELCA has adopted the LGBT agenda of doing away with traditional, Biblical sexuality. Two years ago at the ELCA's national assembly it was commonplace for delegates at the microphone to announce their preferred pronouns before they spoke. Sexual confusion--from calling God "Mother" to ordaining practicing homosexual and transgender people--reigns in the ELCA. Sincerely in Christ, Pastor Tom Brock Read article here.

Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines, Iowa is the largest ELCA church in the nation and has numerous satellite locations, that are also ELCA churches, in surrounding communities. Lutheran Church of Hope hosted the ELCA's 2019 Southeastern Iowa Synod Assembly at their church. Lutheran Church of Hope and senior pastor Mike Housholder has been hosting ELCA synod assemblies for many years, which we will be detailing in a future blog. From a conversation I had years ago with an Lutheran Church of Hope pastor, their church also pays for many of the expenses that normally would be the responsibility of the Southeastern Iowa synod.
It is disturbing and I would suggest, a sin against God for Lutheran Church of Hope to be aligned, aiding and abetting a denomination that preaches universalism (that all are saved), is pro-abortion, uses feminine words for God, demonizes Israel, encourages homosexual relations even with their pastors, allows goddess worship, pushes liberal policies, ordains transgender individuals, twists and ignores Scripture and rejects God's clear historical account of creation recorded in Genesis. If you are a member of Lutheran Church of Hope or any ELCA church you would be wise to find a new church that is not be part of Evangelical Lutheran Church in America's battle against the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.

Disturbingly, there were two resolutions at the 2019 assembly, held at Lutheran Church of Hope, seeking funds from the United States to be given to the Palestinians. At the November meeting of the Church Council of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, a resolution passed stating: ”…the percentage of laypeople not allocated to women or men may be allocated to persons who identify as gender-nonbinary, gender-fluid, women, men or other genders.” Jesus said there are two genders: “He who made them at the beginning made them male and female”(Matthew 19:4). Some in our culture claim there are more than 100 genders. It is sad to see the ELCA side with the culture rather than with Christ. In Jesus our Savior, Pastor Tom Brock -- Link to quote here. Once biblical Lutheran congregation about to hire transgender pastor, “guided by the Holy Spirit"2/15/2022

Many years ago the senior pastor, now deceased, of Roseville Lutheran Church in Minnesota would stand with us conservative pastors against the heresies that were invading the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. That was before 2009, when the ELCA officially voted to ordain practicing homosexual, bisexual and transgender pastors. Below you will see something that would make that senior pastor weep. Roseville Lutheran is about to hire a woman who identifies as a man as pastor. You will notice the first thing she (I can’t say “he”) tells people is that she is a “transman” and uses “he/him/his pronouns” and has a “husband”. If you watch the below video, the call committee explains “the Holy Spirit” guided them to choose this candidate. It sounds like it hasn’t been voted on yet, so please say a prayer that this once biblical congregation would follow Christ and not our confused culture. Sadly, this congregation is right in line with the ELCA which some months ago elected the world’s first transgender bishop. I'll say it again: If you care about the authority of Scripture, time to leave the ELCA, In Christ, Pastor Tom Brock For call committee video tap here (or see below): https://youtu.be/YF9UNUFl4DA "Greetings from Marty Hello! My name is Marty Wyatt and I am thrilled to join Roseville Lutheran as your Associate Pastor. I am a transman and use he/him/his pronouns – but that’s only one aspect of who I am. I grew up about an hour north of the cities on a small family farm and now live in North Minneapolis with my husband Tanner, our two dogs and two cats." (this greeting can be found here) Trinity Lutheran Church in Chelmsford, MA is part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Below is the prayer they used in their January 23, 2022 service. (I recently shared an article about a different ELCA church changing the words of the Lord's Prayer. See here) "THE LORD’S PRAYER Our creator in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kin-dom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kin-dom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and forever. Amen." (See page 13 here) In Matthew 6 Jesus tells us "This, then, is how you should pray" and He then gives us what we now call the "Lord's Prayer." This ELCA church changed the words that Jesus gave us, replacing words "Father" with "creator" and "kingdom" with "kin-dom." Scripture tells us "Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Do not add to his words, lest he rebuke you and you be found a liar." - Proverbs 30:5-6. But we see this happen all the time in the ELCA. |
