The ELCA's "Western States Youth Gathering" begins June 27 in Thousand Oaks California. One of the speakers is Bishop Guy Irwin, the ELCA's first practicing homosexual bishop. One of the workshops offered to the youth is the following (I know what LGBT means, but what now is LGBTQQIAA+? The list of "sexualities" just gets stranger): TITLE: LGBTQQIAA+ in the Lutheran Community... PRESENTER: Laura Shkouratoff and Rev. Craig Minich DESCRIPTION: In order to create a healthy, non-judgmental environment, we aim to lead a youth focused discussion about LGBT inclusion in the ELCA Lutheran denomination. Using multimedia resources, we will get an overview of LGBTQQIAA+.... Please pray that some youth and adults have the courage to speak out against this sinful craziness.

In the unlikely event that any ELCA member would have the intelligence or the strength of character to say "Enough is enough, we're leaving," his slippery pastor already has a plan. He will say "Oh no, wait, at this very moment I have a friend [or cousin or something] who is introducing a [non-binding] resolution [with no chance of succeeding], asking the ELCA to reconsider its position on ... [whatever the reason you're leaving]." If the readers think that's just my cynical imagination, read the comment by "lutheranpastor" at http://thesheepdogsspot.blogspot.com/2013/07/sinister-minister.html

Chances are, any Bible-honoring Christian and confessional Lutheran ready to bolt the ELCA would have a long list of reasons for doing so. His/her answer to the blandishments of the wolf in pastor's clothing should be, "Pastor, I'm biblically commanded not to be part of a church that abets damnation rather than salvation. Tell you what: I'll stop propping up the heretical ELCA, leave your church to go to a confessional Christian church, and stay there until the ELCA decides to repent, honor the Bible, and follow the Lord of the Church. When . . . if . . . that ever happens, call me about the possibility of my returning. . . to a church you're not pastoring." Your comment will be posted after it is approved.
