This is what a pro-abortion rights ELCA pastor looks like...

Reverend Andrea Roske-Metcalfe is a pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. In past posts, I have written how she preached that church members should refer to a woman who identifies as a man as "they". She also preached at Augsburg University, using the f-word, and saying that Jesus screwed up and that the syrophoenician woman had to redeem Jesus.

Now she proclaims on a sign that the Virgin Mary is evidence that we should be pro-choice and she calls her opponents "mother-f....ers".

This isn't just some rogue pastor who to my knowledge has never been disciplined by the ELCA for her blasphemy. The head bishop of the ELCA herself, Elizabeth Eaton, went to the White House recently and stood up for abortion rights, desiring to uphold Roe v. Wade.

I want to believe that most ELCA Lutherans would not be comfortable paying the travel expenses of Elizabeth Eaton so she could promote abortion rights at the White House.

And I have to say it again: it is far past time to leave this on unbiblical denomination and join a good, biblical church which upholds Christian values.

You are correct in saying the average person in the pew has No
idea what these 'leaders' are doing and spewing. Such filth. There are two elca churches I am familiar with and neither pastor is informing the church what is going on outside their perimeters.

There's no way to "nice up" this truth: an ELCA that tells its members to indulge willfully and impenitently in sins the Bible expressly says will keep them out of the kingdom of God is "evangelizing" side by side with Satan.

Martin Luther on 1 John 3:4 — “We are all sinners, and at times we all fall into sin. But when true Christians fall, they soon come back, turn around, and struggle against the sin so that they won’t offend their neighbor…even if Christians are completely surrounded by sin, they should still fight against it. Some people think they’re Christians because they’ve been baptized. These people give their desires free rein and don’t care about conquering their sins. Progressive Christianity is represented mostly in mainline Protestant denominations. Nearly all of these are in membership freefall. And it’s become almost impossible to parody. That’s at least partly because, as theologian J. Gresham Machen said of liberals in his day, the faith they’re teaching is not Christianity at all. It’s a completely different religion. It’s a social reform agenda fueled by feelings, informed by secular thought, while barely draped with religious language.

. . . If your god — however you define him, her, it, or they — never demands change, then your god is you. This is what progressive Christianity has largely become. And it’s why it’s dying. If God’s desires are indistinguishable from our own and His commands identical with the progressive social agenda — to the extent that you don’t even have to believe in Him to pastor a church — then we might as well all stay home on Sundays and listen to NPR.

Thank God, though, Christianity is worth believing. Thank God it is true. It does make demands on our lives, and it offers a salvation better than any that our culture mistakenly will ever call “progress.”

Demons masquerading as church leaders. My guess is things will not go well for them at all in the hereafter.
