Days after multiple ELCA Facebook posts about "Trans Day of Remembrance" the denomination is at it again, this time demonizing Thanksgiving as they observe something called "National Day of Mourning" instead.
One of the ELCA's post about the so-called "National Day of Mourning" said: "Today, as family and friends gather across the nation, it is important for us to remember that for many people this is a day of mourning. As you give thanks for the blessings in your life, take some time to better understand the truths about this holiday and the Wampanoag people, learn about the Indigenous people on whose land you are gathered, and practice a land acknowledgement."

When your denomination's "God" and "Jesus" and "Bible" are world-approved fictions, of course you're going to parrot the zeitgeist's trendy disdain for Thanksgiving.

The arrival of the Pilgrims and other Christians brought the Gospel of the Native peoples' Savior, without Whom they would be lost eternally. While some nominally "Christians" did desire to wipe out the natives, one of my church's pastors from a century ago went to evangelize the Chippewa for the Lutheran Church- Missouri Synod. And God even used the egregious practice of slavery to bring the Gospel to African people. Some African missionaries now come to evangelize this country.

So when is the ELCA willing to give back their headquarters building location to the tribes that occupied the Chicago area long before the city existed? It is much easier to point fingers and be really self righteous when not talking about MY Backyard!
