'The Spirit of G-d is a Slut' Writes an ELCA Leader

Jessica Davis is an ELCA leader. She is a chaplain for the #decolonizeLutheranism group, an organization formed of mostly ELCA leaders, and a signer of the "Naked & Unashamed Statement" which was also written by ELCA leaders. Jessica Davis was also part of a discussion panel that included the presiding bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. (see here)

If there is any doubt that the devil is alive and well in the ELCA, read the following from a blog written by Jessica Davis:

“All it did was remind me that the spirit of G-d is a slut. She gives exactly no shits about respectability, about who she’s supposed to be with, about the right time and place and manner in which to make an appearance. She comes and crashes the party, when and how she wills, in whatever body she chooses, and most of the time, she helps you come too.

And it is from all her heavenly thotery that revolution is born. She opens her legs and invites us in, there to dwell in the house of the Lord. And today, it is enough.” (see here)

That is vile, blasphemous and demonic.

Jessica Davis is an example of the type of leadership that is enveloping the ELCA and embraced by them. It is truly disturbing.

Yuck. Why is she doing this? I have read other statements by her that are almost as bad. She has strong support from her ELCA peers. Is she making an adolescent play for attention -- as the ELCA slips into the abyss? Shock value? Or is it just plain demonic? Thankfully I am not in the ELCA -- if I were I would get out. And I can't help but wonder how much of this irreverent trash talk can be traced back to the influence of Luther....

Jessica Davis writes, "And Christ came. I taste him even now, his salty flesh resting solidly on my tongue. Parent G-d was there too, warming our feet and wiping our eyes as we shared our wordless terror and momentary repose. Oshun made an appearance as well--She danced flirtily around us, flipping her skirts made of lemonade and the sunlight that streamed between the rafters.... Spirit was there. Flinging mercy about with abandon, that hoe."

Note: Oshun is a god of the Nigerian people, associated with fertility, love and sensuality.

For Jessica Davis, Christ and the Holy Spirit are merely two of the many gods. Her religion is a crazy hodgepodge of Christianity and paganism.

It seems that Davis is practicing a form of Santeria, mixing African deities with Christianity, with an openness to be possessed by the spirits. Not good.

The article Ryan recommended lists Oshun as one of the gods (or "orishas") of Santeria.

In the section on "The asiento" (i.e., the initiation), author Kent Philpott writes: "The outcome of the asiento is that the initiate is 'mounted' by the orisha, like a rider mounts a horse. The initiate becomes the seat of the orisha WHICH TAKES POSSESSION OF HIM OR HER. Here is seen the real nature of Santeria. The orisha is no god, saint, or guardian angel; THE ORISHA IS AN UNCLEAN OR EVIL SPIRIT.... THE ORISHA IS A DEMON, as are the eggun, the so-called holy dead."

I read Davis's full blog post, and a couple more of her posts. They are more than irreverent, they are really, literally, demonic. Her self-references, and her references to social and spiritual realities, reflect a real demonic possession. There is a demon in her driver's seat, so the many blasphemies are just par for the course. And in the ELCA there will promotions for her, but no freedom. I feel very sorry for her. We should repudiate her, yes, and let's pray for her too -- God is the ultimate Chain-Breaker.

Elcanites, just a head's up for you: Demonic leadership is bad for you. And your family. The sooner you get out, the better.

I find it baffling that Davis cannot bring herself to spell out the name "God." She writes "G-d" throughout her whole blog. Her reason for doing that cannot be extreme reverence, since no one concerned about reverence would say, "the spirit of G-d is a slut." It's either schizophrenia or demonic possession.

Yes, you have a good eye. The deliberate misspelling "G-d" is one of those dodges that can indicate demonic possession (unless the writer is an orthodox Jew, of course, where it is a term of reverence). Another sign is Davis' self-reference to her own "satanic face" and the co-reference of the homeless woman calling her "devil b*tch." Other signs are the hellish descriptions of everyday reality (the train station) and the guest-list of spirits that visit her, in the guise of Christ, Parent G-d, Oshun, QueenBey=Beyonce Knowles, Gabriel, Michael, Spirit, etc. Her other blog posts repeat these signs and add a few more. Top it all off with her thorough aversion to holiness. The only thing missing is INXS' "Devil Inside" on a soundtrack with her blog!

Schizophrenia? No, Davis is not debilitated in the least. And since when do schizophrenics join together in coalitions and panels?

What can we do? Jude 1:22-23, "have mercy on those who doubt;
save others by snatching them out of the fire; to others show mercy with fear, hating even the garment stained by the flesh."

In another profane blog, she refers to Cain as "the possessed one," even though Genesis 4 says nothing about Cain being possessed. That's a little odd too.

When I read this I also felt this must be Nadia's "sin" sister. She keeps this up and I'm sure she will be asked to speak at the National Youth gathering next summer in Houston along with Nadia. How sad for our youth and for what use to be a great synod. Leaving a church is not always easy and we are struggling with this daily.

I left and joined a Bible-believing nondenominational church. Sure, I still miss the hymns and traditions but I do not miss the constant social justice drumbeat. Being an ex-Lutheran is a freeing experience.

If she wants to be a true Nadia Bolz-Weber disciple, she'll have to manifest these bona fides:

1. Swear a lot, the raunchier the better. It makes you "authentic."

2. Preach everyone-goes-to-heaven universalism. You'll have the backing of your Presiding Bishop, who recently said, "There may be [a Hell], but I think it's empty."

3. Flack for fornication. Make sure your membership in the Naked & Unashamed Lutherans is up to date.

4. Champion homosexuality. After all, you know better than that outmoded Bible, Martin Luther, and 2,000 years of confessional Christian teaching.

5. Praise Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest killer of God's creations. And when you send a few dollars Planned Parenthood's way, be sure to use the Abortionspeak euphemism "women's health" as your reason for doing so. Never mind the health of all those dismembered preborn women.

6. Make lots of political pronouncements, but make sure they're all "progressive" and consonant with planks of the Democratic Party Platform. You wouldn't want to inadvertently turn off the spigot of the world's praise.

Remain in Babylon on Higgins Road at your spiritual peril.
