Stand Up For the Unborn

Women of the ELCA (WELCA), in a recent blog, made the claim that they are “Advocating for girls’ rights everywhere.” (read here)

Their claim is simply not true. What about girls who are in the womb? Women of the ELCA is part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and this denomination certainly does not advocate for the life of unborn girls. They advocate for the destruction of unborn girls and boys. (see here)

It is time every ELCA and WELCA member recognizes what their denomination supports and what they themselves are supporting by being members of the denomination.

So my question to you is this: is God calling you to stand up for the rights of the innocent, the unborn children? Is God calling you to let your brothers and sisters in Christ know the radical pro-abortion position of the ELCA? "It's my body!", so say today's women. Not so; all of our bodies, male and female, are God's property, not our own. What about the helpless unborn one? Does she or he not have a body possessed by God as well? How can anyone who calls themself a Christian advocate for the taking of an innocent life whose voice cannot yet be heard?

Christians both male and female are to regard their bodies as temples, since Jesus Christ resides within them. So, is then the termination of a pregnancy nothing less than a human sacrifice in God's temple?

Praise God Mary of Nazareth was pro-life... Return to the Lord your God, apostate leaders of mainline Protestant churches! Repent and be forgiven while you still have breath; someday you will stand before the Lord. "As you have done to the least of these, so have you done to Me." Will you be a goat or a sheep?

ELCA leaders have no clue about the magnitude of the sacrilege they're abetting.

[Peter Leithart's "Attacking the Tabernacle"] ". . . Psalm 139, then, is picking up on a known thread of imagery when it compares the formation of an infant in the womb to his being “woven” like a tent curtain. In the womb, the Lord weaves the tent that the infant will “wear” until he puts it off at death. With its allusions to the roqem work of the tabernacle, the Psalm goes further, implying not only that God has made the infant in the womb, but also that the infant is being woven into a dwelling for God. Abortion attacks not only a creature of God but a house of God. The abortionist’s instruments pierce through the unfinished roqem curtains and tread on holy ground. We are talking here not only about slaughter of the innocent but about sacrilege, a direct attack on “space” claimed by God. That is the most serious offense possible. Paul’s warning hovers ominously over our nation: “If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy.”

When we have left in tatters the tents God wove for Himself, how shall He dwell among us?"

James Lamb of Lutherans for Life as they prepare to cast their ballots:

God speaks to some of the political issues of our day but in a way that gives the Christian plenty of "wiggle" room. For example, God speaks about taxes. He tells us to give to "Caesar" what is his.

However, He does not talk about tax structures or the IRS. Therefore, Christians may debate about how much they think " Caesar" should be taking or about how he should be taking it.

God speaks about salvation but not about how to save the Social Security system. Therefore, Christians may debate about the pros and cons of privatization.

God speaks about caring for the elderly but not about Medicare. Therefore, Christians may debate about the best way to help the elderly pay for prescriptions.

God speaks differently, however, about destroying innocent human life, and there is no "wiggle" room. He says: "You shall not murder."

We must not forget what abortion is. All the rhetoric surrounding abortion has deceptively blinded us to the truth. We hear it described as a "right," a "choice," or a "medical procedure." It becomes too easy -- even for the Christian -- to see abortion as just another one of those "election issues."

Think about it! What is a candidate who supports abortion rights really supporting? Abortion is not on a par with a woman's right to equal employment and equal pay.

Let's be honest.

The candidate who supports abortion rights supports a woman's right to take the life of her innocent child. Abortion is not just an "election issue." Abortion is a grave sin.

Abortion assaults God's Word of truth about the sanctity of human life and, therefore, assaults the Word Himself Who became flesh that we might have life. Abortion is a sin against God Who is the Author and Redeemer of life. Abortion is not an "election issue." Because abortion destroys human life, it is a spiritual issue.
