"Queer4Jesus" ELCA pastor says church is "tool of Satan" to deny "who you love is what was meant for you"

The below is a pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. He is "married" to a man and is upset the pope recently spoke against homosexual behavior. He writes in his Facebook post: 'Queerly Beloved, The church as an institution has theology that's about preserving power rather than radical love. Don't listen to it. It's a tool of Satan. Listen to the voice in your soul that tells you that you belong, that you are worth love, that the way you love and who you love is what was meant for you. That's the voice of God and it's more important than the voice of any institution."

It is tragic that the ELCA allows this person to be in pastoral leadership, a person who claims the "voice within" is what we should follow. No, Lutherans and all Christians follow the Scriptures. The "voice within" (our fallen human nature) will tell us anything we want to hear, which is why we need the Bible to guard us from deception and destruction.

Please pray many, many people leave the ELCA.

This man is darling! A darling soul who is deceived, deluded, and deceiving. It hurts my heart to know souls are headed to hell because of selfish sinful people who lie to them. Must be as alcoholics don't like to drink alone, these people want to also take others into bondage.
I left an elca church after a recent few years attending one when the Living Lutheran pride magazine opened my eyes. Then, of course many other unbiblical things came to light..... Liberal pastors don't seem to enjoy conservative thinking. I sure hope people will leave and leave quickly. Find a church who honors God, holds the scriptures as Truth, honors Israel. Hold to two genders and live as God desires. God bless and save truly these people.

It's another total inversion of truth from ELCA clerics.

Most of the time, ELCA pastors and bishops deny the existence of a real Satan and an actual hell. If they admit to the existence of hell, they (like Presiding Bishop Eaton: https://www.exposingtheelca.com/exposed-blog/head-elca-bishop-says-there-may-be-a-hell-but-she-thinks-it-is-empty)
think it's empty because (like Nadia Bolz-Weber at the 2018 Youth Gathering: https://www.firstthings.com/article/2018/10/elca-hits-bottom ) they embrace the universalism heresy that everyone walking the face of the earth will automatically go to heaven. About the only time they'll invoke Satan is to attribute to him the authorship of clearly articulated Bible truths and millennia-old orthodox Christian teaching that labels sexual sin as sexual sin.

When they keep willfully ignoring, flouting, and preaching against Holy Spirit-authored truths -- sin, hell, repentance, salvation, the Gospel -- Jesus says they're playing with fire. Luther concurs:

Luther on 1 Cor. 15:22 — “Paul is speaking here only about Christians. He wants to teach and comfort them about being made alive in Christ. Although non-Christians also will rise from the dead, their resurrection will not be a comfort or a joy to them, because they will be raised to judgment, not to life.” (LW, 28:114)

Luther on 1 Peter 1:3 — “..we must preach about Jesus Christ, that he died and rose from the dead and why he died and was resurrected. We must preach so that the people will believe in him and through faith be saved. This is what it means to preach the true gospel. Any preaching that is different than this is not the gospel, no matter who preaches it.” (LW, 30:9)

Luther on John 3:16—“What the Lord Christ wants first & foremost is your heart—a heart that believes in him alone..When you believe in Christ, your heart becomes clean..You will act differently than before. Faith won’t permit you to be a sinner, fornicator, or adulterer any longer. So your entire life will reflect what’s in your heart.” (LW, 22:374)

With "friends" like this from the First Solipsistic Church Of Glandular Theology, who needs enemies?

Martin Luther knew about Satan and hirelings.

Luther on Gen. 19:24-5 — “Arrogant and stubborn people despise the Word of God and laugh at well-intentioned words of caution…We must guard against this false teaching. It’s not enough for these people to bring destruction on themselves. They intend to drag us down with them. Like the people of Sodom, they don’t realize that their sins will soon be punished.”(LW, 3:239)

Luther on Gal. 5:16 — “Persisting in sin is disastrous...Those who obey the sinful nature & continue to gratify its desires should know that they don’t belong to Christ. Even though people may label themselves with the name ‘Christian,’ they are only deceiving themselves.” (LW, 27:80)

Luther on Mark 4:15—“Satan keeps on tempting people to commit sexual sins and other terrible crimes because he doesn’t want people to believe in what God says and does. But the church and God’s people should regard Satan’s attacks on God’s Word and work as especially dangerous…Letting go of God’s Word is the root of all temptations.”(LW, 1:146)

Luther on Genesis 19:4-5 -- "[The people of Sodom] departed from the natural passion and longing of the male for the female, which is implanted into nature by God, and desired what is altogether contrary to nature. Whence comes this perversity? Undoubtedly from Satan, who after people have once turned away from the fear of God, so powerfully suppresses nature that he blots out the natural desire and stirs up a desire that is contrary to nature." (Luther’s Works, Vol. 3, 255)
