Kristen Kuempel is the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) bishop of the newly named Northwest Intermountain Synod. Bishop Kuempel took to Facebook on October 2, 2019, to comment and share an article that attacks Franklin Graham's Operation Christmas Child (OCC) organization.
The recommended article contains the assertions that "Samaritan’s Purse president Franklin Graham spews ever more hateful rhetoric about immigrants and Muslims" and that Operation Christmas Child is one of the "more toxic forms of charity." The bishop-recommended article offers additional hollow criticism and then ELCA Bishop Kristen Kuempel concludes her post with a self-serving suggestion: "If this article changes your mind about OCC but you still want to help, check out the ELCA Good Gifts program." One thing to know or remember about Operation Christmas Child is that they include a Gospel booklet, with their boxes, that shares Bible stories and invites children to follow Jesus, helping children know about our Lord and Savior. When was the last time you saw ELCA charities doing that? Another Tweet by the ELCA bishop has her attacking Franklin Graham:
If you reject the ELCA bishop's implications and behavior, see here to be part of Operation Christmas Child's God-honoring work. Click here to read another Exposing the ELCA article of an ELCA leader attacking Operation Christmas Child.

The Leftist talking points relentlessly regurgitated by ELCA clerics just have to be indications they're laying the groundwork for future employment after the ELCA goes belly up.

Wow...Bishop Kuempel certainly fits the role of Scrooge when it comes to anything outside of the "one sided talking points" of the shrinking ELCA!! Does she have anything better to offer the children across the world??

Another advantage of Operation Christmas Child shoebox operation is you know that every dollar you spend is going directly to the children. The ELCA takes a minimum 15% for their fee for this ELCA pastor's recommended ELCA program. Based on checking on some of their past programs my family participated in when we were ELCA members. The World Hunger Programs the ELCA had my kids give up food for 36 hours in their youth group and participate in every year were big fundraisers for the ELCA. Doing financial research on their own website I came across a video by the ELCAs top financial secretary talking about how much the ELCA took of the top for administrative fees, how much went for political operatives in Washington DC, how much went to the international organization to be able to get it to a country. I replayed the video several times. I was sickened by how a very tiny % actually went to the hungry starving people in these poor countries. Less than 1/6 of every dollar donated by the youth went for the purpose intended. I also noticed how through the years the amount the entire ELCA budgets for missions is tiny. They should be ashamed of misleading faithful givers.Reading the detail in their financials is interesting to me. I guess very few people actually read them. They tell a lot about the ELCA.
