No Doubt Where the ELCA Stands on Homosexuality and Transexuality

The ELCA is a homosexual and transsexual-affirming denomination. The ELCA ordains practicing homosexuals as well as people who call themselves transsexuals. It's one thing to love all people, but it's another to affirm, celebrate and elevate their sinful decisions. Sadly the ELCA enthusiastically hails their approval of these sinful lifestyles. Those who have been paying attention know this to be true, but many ELCA members insulate themselves within their ELCA churches and ignore the LGBT clamoring made by the denomination. For those people, Exposing the ELCA continues to provide material evidence in hopes their eyes will be opened to see how far the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America has fallen.

I feel empathy for those with same-sex or transgender orientations, as the lion's share of these are the result of the Fall of Adam and the rise of sin. I believe very few, if any, have LGBT orientation by choice. And even though their orientations feel natural and proper, their resulting actions on them are still against God's Will, and thus are still sins. But these folks are no greater sinners than you or I, and certainly not beyond redemption.

God has already declared the whole world forgiven by the atoning death of Jesus Christ. The proper response is to have these sins absolved as confessed, not resolved to be blessed (as the ELCA and other church bodies have claimed). LGBT Christians who struggle with these sins need not feel they are beyond redemption. One need only repent to the best of their ability and trust that Jesus will always forgive. Will those who struggle return to those sins? Sadly, most will, but Confession and Holy Absolution are always available for those who trust in Christ's Righteousness as covering their sins.

For a church body to encourage and celebrate LGBT orientations, rather than to lovingly call these dear souls back to repentance, remembering they are baptized into Christ, is wrong. Christian pastors are supposed to be the guardians of the souls of their flocks. Having wayward lambs continue on their path of sin is a violation of their ordination vows.

Scripture says that those who lead in the Church will be subject to a stricter judgment. And in causing these little ones to stumble by giving them a free pass to sin willfully, didn't Christ say that it would be better if they would be tied to millstones and thrust into the sea?

C'mon, pastors! When you stand before Jesus Christ on the Day of Judgment, what will He say? By playing dice with the salvation of not only themselves, but those whom they shepherded, aren't there some very dire implication for their eternal destinies if they were wrong?

Once again, God's Word, Martin Luther, and medical science stand squarely athwart the world-pleasing ELCA.

** He [Jesus] answered, “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? When a gay man explains his homosexuality by claiming he's actually a woman trapped in a man's body, is that the theory he really believes himself?, or merely the explanation that succeeds in getting his parents to shut up?

Some ELCA churches in Minneapolis and St Paul either fly the gay-rights rainbow flag outside their churches, or hang rainbow banners over the entrances to their buildings. Its odd that they are so obsessed with this that they have to advertise it via flags.

So, I wonder if the ELCA has had much to say about "marriage" and families when the African American family (especially in our inner cities) has been practically in a state of free-fall since the 1960s.
