That quote is from Rev. Nadia Bolz-Weber, the most famous pastor, author and speaker in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Nadia Bolz-Weber is a major leader in the ELCA, and she is telling people that it is okay to view pornography. That, of course, is against Scripture. God tells us, and in the words of Jesus, "But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart." - Matthew 5:28 This is what the ELCA has become. Many ELCA leaders, members and unchurched people fawn over Rev. Bolz-Weber. She was even picked to speak to 31,000 ELCA teenagers at last summer's ELCA youth gathering despite the high volume of heretical statements she has made in the past. (see here and here) ELCA Pastor Bolz-Weber went on in the same article to say: "If we took shame out of the fact that people like to view erotic imagery, the compulsive behavior around consuming pornography would decrease." "The church is saying that the Creator of the Universe, God in the heavens above, knows if you’re masturbating, and God is super disappointed. How ridiculous. That causes harm because these teachings are done in God’s name." "The Bible’s not clear about shit!" "If the teachings of the church are harming people, then we need to rethink those teachings." The last two quotes are a good description of what the ELCA believes about God's Word. This is false teaching and people need to get out from under their leadership. If you will not do it in honor of God, do it for your children. And things are even going to get worse. With the approaching release of Nadia's new book, you can be assured that this is just the beginning of troubling and Bible-defying teaching ELCA leaders and members will consume.

My wife and I are several months into our NALC church experience. The main reason we left ELCA is because of all the playing fast and loose with morality and doctrine. And that was at the denomination level; our church was fairly moderate. We are already stunned by how much more alive our new church seems. No comparison. The ELCA is dead and will probably cease to exist in a decade or so.

Just 9 years, not even a decade, after the dam broke in the ELCA, just look at what the tide has washed in and out:

Since Nadia is such a "rock star" at ELCA gatherings one would certainly think they would be "proud" to put her articles & tweets in The Lutheran to really spice up the magazine!!

No matter what poseur-“Lutheran” role she’s playing, Nadia Bolz-Weber is indisputably the ELCA’s marquee ear-tickler.

The ELCA is not "E" (evangelical, they're truly demonic)

Themselves....they put themselves above God..... 12/6/2018 11:32:47 am
But of course they are! The "reverend" Nadia Bolz-Weber is their "pope". Can't you see?

I was born and raised in the Lutheran faith. I left what became the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in 1987, following my acceptance of Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. In my humble opinion, the Rev. Nadia Bolz-Weber is nothing short of a heretic. She is a frequent guest speaker at various ELCA youth events. I believe the ELCA needs to move to kick her out of the denomination and defrock her from the ministry. The denomination's leaders need to do it yesterday! For them to allow her to continue preaching and teaching the filth she has been would be even further evidence of just how astray that the ELCA has gone from sound doctrine and Biblical principles. It is further my opinion that she is a wolf in sheep's clothing!

I will not step into an ECLA church. This is not a Lutheran church. It is not "scripture alone", "faith alone" or "grace alone". It is apostasy. I am a member of the LCMS Lutheran church. As a whole, we are pro-life, pro traditional marriage, and conservative, faithful to the Word of God.

I'm so happy that in the year of 2016 I decided to read the Bible and I've learned the truth, Gods Word on how to live our lives and what to believe, Jesus is 100 percent grace and 100 percent truth and he did not come to abolish the law but to fulfill it, once you give your life to Jesus and take up the cross daily and read Gods word the Holy Spirit fills you and you know the truth, as a member of a Elca Lutheran Church it was the best decision in my life to leave that church and go to a Bible teaching church that is no religion, just reads from the Bible and teaches Gods word, the happiest I've ever been and know God brought me there, so thank you Jesus.
