The Southeastern Minnesota Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America felt it important to post a statement by Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota (LSS) in 2012 which outlined LSS's opposition to a voter ID law which was on the state ballet that asked voters “Shall the Minnesota Constitution be amended to require all voters to present valid photo identification to vote and to require the state to provide free identification to eligible voters, effective July 1, 2013?”
The LSS of MN letter stated that they “opposes the photo voter identification constitutional amendment, because every neighbor matters.” Read here.
This is just another reason why people should prayerfully and knowledgeably consider where they give their money.

I recently took a small battery from my lawn mower to a local recycle center. They purchase scrap iron, copper, old batteries, etc. A person in the back weighed it and gave me a slip of paper with the weight written on it. He said take this to the front desk. The person at the front desk asked me for a photo ID. I complied. She then gave me 63 cents for the scrap battery. If one has to present a photo ID to sell scrap batteries and iron and steel, I don't feel its out of line to ask a person to present a photo ID to do something as important as vote.
