Luther Seminary chapel: Preferred pronouns and the Holy Spirit is a "her"

Below is a recent chapel service at Luther Seminary of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Seminary chapel at my alma mater has become radical in recent years with transgender and "womanist" preachers, prayers to "Mother God", Native American spirituality, and observance of both National Coming Out Day and the Transgender Day of Remembrance. In the below service, the preferred pronouns of each participant are listed (he/him/his, etc.) in order to be transgender-sensitive. And the closing benediction states "May the Spirit embrace your soul in her grace", even though the Bible never refers to the Holy Spirit as "her".

Luther Seminary attendance has shrunk much since my days there and, as with other liberal seminaries, financial problems have led to the seminary selling off some of its buildings. Two ELCA seminaries in Pennsylvania had to merge into one United Seminary, whose new president, former ELCA Bishop Guy Erwin, is a homosexual with a "husband." The ELCA's Pacific Lutheran Seminary in California sold its building to a Muslim school.

The ELCA, the Episcopal Church in America, the Presbyterian Church USA, the United Church of Christ, the Disciples of Christ, and the United Methodist Church are the most liberal denominations in America, and they have lost many members in recent years as these denominations drift further and further from Scripture.

Once again the verse comes to mind "You reap what you sow."

Jesus (John 16:13): "But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come."

ELCA: "We know better, Jesus. Let us help you get up to speed. We're really big into preferred pronouns, and our preferred pronouns for the Holy Spirit are *she* and *her*."

When you preach a fake "Jesus," a fake "Father," and a fake "Holy Spirit," you've got a debilitated corporation with "Ichabod" written over your door, through which revulsed throngs flee year after year after year.

Any true believer should be totally against this criminal “Equality Act.” Curious what this “denomination’s” stance is on this??

. . . "If God created marriage for a man and a woman (and you know He did), our whole culture thinks it can rise up and fell Him by its word. If God says it’s wrong to take innocent life (which again, He did), this Equality Act would tell God Himself to take a hike; that His sovereignty is nothing next to the woman’s, and that His loving wisdom knows nothing about what she really needs.

"This, too, is wrong, and you know it. And very soon you may find yourself in a position where you will have to say so. You will not be popular for it. You could lose a job. You could see family members turn away. You will need to stand anyway. Are you ready?. . . The bill is before Congress. They’ll decide what to do with it. You and I must decide to stand. Whatever happens, for the sake of God and His truth, we must stand."

The ELCA is predictably ready to take its stand. . . by kneeling in worshipful obedience and kissing Caesar's ring. Caesar's "Equality Act" criminalizes confessional Christianity by putting government's imprimatur on God-defying abominations on which the ELCA has already put its denominational imprimatur.

If you think these assaults on freedom and Christianity are bad now, if they succeed with their gun grab law, things will get far worse. The Second Amendment is there to guard against tyrants just like these. The Founding Fathers were no dummies, they knew the mind of tyrants.

I went to what was once called “Lutheran Seminary at Gettysburg” for one semester before dropping out (after seeing the demonic nature of the ELCA firsthand). I entered just prior to the 2009 Churchwide, unaware of what I was getting myself into. In just one semester, I had professors teaching that the entire Old Testament was metaphorical fiction based on Egyptian, Babylonian, and Greek mythology.

So I asked the professor why then would we even want to become pastors if (according to the ELCA) the Bible is just “fairy tales”. The professor replied that “pastors provide assurance to the older folks who believe the Bible is literal, while at the same time inspiring social activism in the youth”. She also admitted that the ELCA does indeed teach universalism and that pastors should “discourage decision theology”. I dropped out that very day.

And when I was in seminary briefly, 2009-2010, there were already openly gay student in relationships, even before the Churchwide decision. Their candidacy committees not only did not discourage them, but applauded them. The Churchwide decision was a mere formality, the LGBT indoctrination had been seeping in many years prior.

I also witnessed students writing papers theorizing that Jesus may have been LGBT. The professors applauded this radical nonsense. And professors, who rarely handed out grades lower than a B, were asking conservative students (rare as they were) to re-write papers that had too much confessional Lutheranism.
