Living Lutheran magazine tells story of ELCA transgender pastor: “I’d always liked wearing women’s clothing”

Nicole Garcia was born a man, married a woman, and then divorced. After that time he went to a transgender conference and discovered “I’d always been a woman. The weight lifted from my shoulders and, for the first time in my life, I felt at peace. I claimed myself as Nicole.” “She” then joined a congregation of the liberal Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and “fell in love with Lutheran theology...Now, as an ELCA pastor, I proclaim the gospel of love and inclusion of my savior, Jesus Christ. The ELCA has embraced me.” This article appeared in the official magazine of the ELCA in its September 2020 edition.
Today one can be a practicing homosexual pastor and also a practicing transgender pastor and lead a congregation of the ELCA. And the ELCA continues to shrink in members and donations.

As I have said before, ELCA really stands for “Extremely Liberal Church in America” or “Everything Luther Cautioned Against” or “Every Lutheran Confession Abandoned.”

Should God render judgement on this nation for turning its back on Him, we can thank this denomination for helping lead the way to apostasy.

The following from Isaiah 29:13-14 is appropriate for this “denomination.” “And so the Lord says, “These people say they are mine, but their hearts are far from me. And their worship of me is nothing but man-made rules learned by rote.

Because of this, I will once again astound these hypocrites with amazing wonders.”

He said he brought his liking to dress up in women’s clothing to a therapist. Clearly the therapist told him “Oh, no worries, that’s a completely normal inclination for a man to have.” And then he joined a “support group”, aka an echo chamber. Call me old-fashioned, but I prefer the bygone days when then this behavior was considered unnatural and nobody turned Norman Bates into some kind of brave “hero” of the church.

Since the DSM won’t diagnose people like this pastor as being mentally ill anymore, it’s no wonder. And how dare he insinuate that Lutheran theology justifies any of this. Show me in the Small Catechism where Luther ever promotes any LGBTQ propaganda. You won’t find it in the Book of Concord either. And most importantly, you won’t find it in the Bible. Genesis says of God, “male and female He created them.” Nothing in between.

"The diagnosis of gender dysphoria prematurely puts people on a path to transition while trivializing and dismissing contributing factors such as alcohol and drug abuse, sexual fetishes and co-existing psychological disorders. It pathologizes children who innocently experiment with gender roles or who exhibit various anxieties. The result is physical and psychological harm, unhappiness, regret, and a significant rise in suicide.

"Like the discredited procedures of Drs. Cotton, Watts and Freeman, the trans “treatment” being idolized today should meet the same fate as lobotomies, tooth pulling and colon removal—tossed on the historical rubbish heap of debunked horrific experiments perpetrated on innocent, hurting people.

"As I wrote in my book, Paper Genders, cutting off breasts, filling patients with cross-sex hormones, cutting off or refashioning male genitalia, installing a pseudo penis on a female—all of today’s transgender treatments are barbaric and need to stop. Someday these matters will be decided in the courts and hopefully the harmful practices will be curtailed, but “someday” is too late for those being ensnared into the trans ideology today.
