LIRS Highlights Transgender and Queer Activists

Gay Pride month happens every June. It is a time when you see people, businesses and organizations make statements and social media posts showing their support. Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service was one organization which was fully invested in "celebrating" Gay Pride this June. One Facebook post by the organization has a picture of a man dressed like a woman and an article honoring this "Transgender Activist & Immigrant." Another post by LIRS celebrates a "queer" undocumented artist. (See both below)

Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS) is a partner of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and the ELCA financially support LIRS.

It is time for Bible-believing ELCA Lutherans to stop putting up with the denomination's rebellion against God. Stop being content and silent in your comfortable, "isolated" ELCA church. The ELCA's heretical, faith-destroying beliefs are harming everyone who comes in contact with it. Leading your church and/or your family out of ELCA is the God-honoring action Bible-believing Christians should take.

The biggest sin the pretend-church ELCA is committing: encouraging the impenitent embrace of sin by those who are presently undocumented in the Lamb's Book of Life and who are in mortal danger of spending eternity separated from God in hell.

The apostolic answer is that there is no such thing as a homosexual Christian. "There is no "homosexual voice within the Church," for the homosexual's conversion entails a choice—This, or That—the sin, or the Faith. He cannot have both, nor can the Church in any way accommodate the sin from which he has been cleansed. It is wholly and actively and vehemently against it as a destroyer of the souls it has been called to save. It labors among the saints only in the accomplishment of what has already been done in Christ: cleansing, sanctification, and justification in the Name of the Lord."

I remember having a “discussion” with an avid ELCA follower. She was telling me how this behavior was acceptable for Christians and I disagreed. I said there were many instances in the Bible where this behavior was expressly called out as wrong. She told me I just “interpreted it wrong.” I was like you’ve gotta he kidding!! It was as clear as the admonitions not to steal. So should I interpret the that as meaningless too, and go out and start robbing banks?? At that point she had a hissy fit and stopped talking. As what happens with most liberals when you corner them with facts & logic.

About that ELCA "you've just been interpreting it wrong for 2,000 years" *higher* knowledge:

". . . proponents of same-sex marriage will therefore have several choices between them.

1. They can reject the plain sense articulation of the [marriage] rites as such, and try to bring in a generic version that avoids the specificity of the biblical texts. This resembles the gnostic appeal to Scripture as metaphor or a "for-instance," en route to a present improvement enlivened by appeals to higher insight.

2. They can declare the rites impossible to retain and construct altogether new ones. This is closer to the Marcionite instinct. Search about with the canvass of Scripture for those bits that reinforce what is wanted: Jesus as engendering virtues like love and hoped-for permanence in relationships, unrelated to male and female differentiation and difference.
