In the no-surprises department, another ELCA cleric professes unswerving allegiance to the world and proudly signs up to be numbered in God's indictment in Hosea 4:17: "Ephraim is joined to idols; leave him alone."

So tuning out those hirelings who strive only to reside and preside in the Church of Moloch and Asherah, let's instead focus on encouragement for Christ-following pastors:

[ . . .] This was a Christian leader who was sexually attracted to other men. Someone asked him how anyone under that temptation could stay faithful in life and ministry. From the way the question was worded, I got the sense the questioner expected him to wax long and eloquent on all spiritual tricks and techniques, on staying celibate, being accountable, and putting oneself under all kinds of spiritual self-protective measures.

I’m sure he could have answered on that level. Instead he said, “By following Jesus Christ with all your heart.”

It reminds me of another very simple message that has stuck with me: “Do the right thing. The rest is up to God. Be at peace.” Or one of my own: Stay anchored, and don’t accommodate to the world.

But that’s not really my message, is it? I’m only paraphrasing part of Paul’s point in Romans 12:1-2: "I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

[. . .] How do you stay faithful? Hold tight to the core. Follow Jesus Christ, no matter what. Do whatever it takes to keep centered there.

And keep an eye on your heart. Guard it for Christ. Guard it against the confusions of false teaching, against the temptations to go wrong, and against the distractions that want to knock you off course.

And let the joy of Christ fill you even in the middle of it all, just as Peter wrote in 1 Peter 4:12-13: "Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share in Christ’s sufferings, that may also rejoice and be glad when His glory is revealed."

Interesting listening to the Mark Levin podcast from 10/24. He referred to the German ideologies rooted in authoritarianism and control by the state. Most notably Marx but also several other German philosophers. How probably not coincidental that a Lutheran denomination rooted in Germany would follow these freedom-hating ideologies. Not to disparage Martin Luther because he freed the church from Catholic heresies. But having no German background in my lineage and watching Lutherans from afar, you can see why, given their heritage, they have affinity for the totalitarians of today. Christlike it is not!

From my experience, these radical feminist liberals that have taken over the ELCA didn’t start out radicalized. I attended Gettysburg Seminary before it merged with Philly and my classmates were fairly normal kids in their 20’s and 30’s. But the professors were full blown hippies. Basically every seminary campus was a slightly duller version of Berkley.

99% of Seminary was hippie professors calling the Bible into question. They used “historical” interpretations to try to deny the entire first half of the Old Testament. One professor claimed that the Red Sea crossing was “impossible” scientifically and that they have no archeological evidence. What happened to faith??? Why do these professors doubt miriacles?

And now that this class of students have become pastors and bishops, it’s no wonder that we see this clout chasing, pronoun obsessed, politically correct culture. The seminaries utterly failed everyone.

One thing that really struck me was that my professors required us to always refer to them as Doctor, never professor, pastor, or reverend. And they would readily and passive agressively correct you if you forgot to say Doctor. So much for being humble, they are quite proud of their Doctor of Divinty degrees. But what good does a degree do if you cant even understand basic scripture?
