In which another ELCA cleric exposes the real decision-making process in his denomination:

** "I prefer to recognize that if something causes no harm then perhaps the church labeling it as sinful is misguided."
ELCAspeak translation: "It's gonna take something a lot more authoritative than the Bible's clear condemnation of all sexual relationships outside of man-woman marriage to make us ELCAnites pay attention. The world's opinions, for one."

** "I try to trust the testimony of Christians whose sexuality is different from mine."
ELCAspeak translation: "Bible? Who pays heed to that antediluvian book anymore? Never let it be said that we in the First Solipsistic Church of Societal Appeasement did or said anything to incur the displeasure of gland-driven parishioners or pagans."

** "The church has a process for making declarations on human sexuality..."
The ELCA's decades-old "process" as explained in Pastor David Barnhart's 2011 response to a letter by former ELCA Presiding Bishop Chilstrom:
"The people of the ELCA were not the ones who raised the issue of promoting homosexuality as being virtuous, nor did they raise the issue of ordaining practicing homosexuals as pastors. You, Bishop Chilstrom, and the ELCA leadership were responsible for relentlessly driving this agenda in the ELCA over the past 22 years. It was you and liberal ELCA leaders who initiated studies, costing millions of benevolence dollars, in order to reeducate ELCA members that homosexuality should be fully accepted by the church, in total contradiction to the teachings of Scripture."

The pastor asks what I think about it? It doesn't matter what I think, or how I feel...... the Word of God is clear about what God says! A truly converted Christian would take His words as God saying what He means, and He means what He says.
I pray for so many so deceived, and for the innocent in the elca pews giving hard-earned money to these agendas.
Pastors are permitting, thus promoting, all this heresy and blasphemy to happen because sin is no longer preached against. When I was a kid, the preaching kept me on the straight and narrow. I heard a pastor say he didn't want to offend or hurt the
people in the pews. Is it better to offend God?

So this “pastor’s” response is basically “My opinion on human sexuality is that it is unimportant and it should be downplayed.” That’s not an answer!! The question was ‘Would the ELCA endorse polyamorous unions and relationships?’

And the correct answer is yes, the ELCA would...but actual Christians would NOT. Because the ELCA endorses the repeated violation of all Ten Commandments.
