Ebenezer Lutheran Church, now called Herchurch, is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Herchurch worships God as "the goddess" and "Mother". At its upcoming Goddess Festival, here are some of the workshops: Mandala making (my note: mandalas are Hindu symbols) Sacred drumming Goddess painting Our Earth Mother, ourselves… Cleaning out and owning your queer identity: a healing guided meditation with healing priestess Yoga for ecstasy and healing (see here) If you are a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and this doesn't get you to leave, I ask you to ask yourself "What would?" ELCA leadership does not discipline this congregation and in the past has defended it. Sincerely in Christ, Pastor Tom Brock pastorsstudy.org

As the ELCA's multiplied heresies and apostasies keep pushing its members toward eternal damnation, not salvation, how can any parishioner justify staying in the proud antithesis of biblical Christianity? "For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?"

Most church members do not conceive of religion as a set of propositions of truth. To them church is merely a social club or a family tradition. The slightly more alert ones might notice that we didn't used to speak of God as a promiscuous woman who wants to wrap her thighs around us, but they have no basis to judge whether the change is for the better or the worse, since they never actually believed in God to begin with.

People who want an ecclesiastical flophouse to worship in should try the Unitarian church.

Here's something for those who say, "My family has always been Lutheran," or, "All my friends belong to the ELCA":

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
