Gay ELCA pastor preaches that we follow Jesus by working for abortion rights

The two men pictured in the first link below are “married” and both are pastors in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The one on the right recently preached a sermon (see video below) entitled “The road ahead will be difficult”. In it he tells parishioners that we follow Jesus by working for abortion rights. He also quotes the ELCA’s head bishop, Elizabeth Eaton, who has also called upon Lutherans to work for abortion rights.

Tragic. “Thou shalt not kill” was not mentioned.

Please pray for Christ’s Church.

Frequently I think that the word abortion has lost its horror. If we called it murder (which it is) and torture (which it is), perhaps it might wake up people better. I don't think war prisoners are supposed to be tortured---------but the noisiest people in America cheer, clap, and beg for it. The real root of the problem is of course morality. If God's laws for marriage were upheld, there would be far fewer women seeking such services. My heart goes out to these moms, and the dads, who have to live with their decisions. They cannot know the heartache, and likely physical problems after such a gory "procedure". Too bad some of these men can't feel what this must be like........

Every other branch of American Lutheranism takes a Biblical view of the sanctity of life and of the evil of abortion. ELCA member, don't be a partner with evil. For the sake of your conscience and spiritual safety, flee from the callous godlessness of the ELCA to a confessional Lutheran church.

Hi Tom, just a minor correction: My husband (the one in the left in the photo you posted) is actually a pastor in the United Church of Christ, not the ELCA. But yes, I am an ELCA pastor.
