A few Evangelical Lutheran Church in America leaders are on or were on the board of advisors of World Population Balance, an organization focused on overpopulation and pedaling the idea that families should chose to only have one child.
Lowell Erdahl, retired Bishop of St. Paul Area Synod, Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, is currently on the board of advisors, while ELCA college professor Greg Krueger, Augsburg College, formally was on the organization's board of advisors. (See here) World Population Balance's Mission statement is: "We alert and educate that overpopulation is the root cause of resource depletion, species extinction, poverty, and climate change. Our mission is to chart a path for human civilization that – rather than causing greater misery – enables good lives on a healthy planet. We advocate and support a smaller, truly sustainable human population – through dramatic and voluntary reduction in birth rates." (See here) See Ken Ham's Facebook post below about World Population Balance's "One Planet One Child" promotional campaign. In a related note, ELCA has a long history and record of supporting abortion. See here.

As you may have noticed, this post-Christian "denomination" said nothing about the large prayer gatherings this past weekend by Rev Franklin Graham and Rabbi Jonathan Cahn (I highly recommend his book Harbinger 2, btw!!!) in Washington DC. It is my sincere hope and prayer that these gatherings of believers in prayer and repentance will turn this country back to the true God and save us from the judgement that is coming.

Useful-idiot posturing ignores cold facts: in many countries, the birth rate is well below the replacement level. The U.S. birth rate is about 1.7 children per woman, well below the 2.1 children needed to ward off population decreases.

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
