Madeline Burbank is a Master of Divinity student at the ELCA's Luther Seminary. Below is an announcement she made on her Facebook page about her education choice and the motivation behind it. Madeline Burbank does not mention telling people about Jesus and His free gift of salvation. It is about "Effective relief efforts, lifelong service, environmental stewardship, anti-racism, immigrant and refugee support, intersectional feminism, LGBTQIA+ inclusion, interfaith dialogue, sex positivity, and improving education..."
Everyone should be frightened about the pastors the ELCA is and has ordained.

I have heard that within all ELCA candiates for ministry need to deny that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God in it's Truth and purity or they will be denied ordination within the ELCA? Any insights on this issue?

One of the first things we were asked in class, at an ELCA seminary, was our view of Scripture. Only two of us said it was inerrant out of 12 or so. This was in 2003. I'd love to hear from recent ELCA seminarians. I would bet a lot of ELCA professors would have a big problem if a student went through 3-4 years of seminary and still believed the Bible was the inerrant Word of God.

The ELCA and it’s churches have become nothing more than platforms for spouting the liberal social agenda. Men and women aren’t going to seminary to learn to preach the Gospel and care for their congregations. They are there to learn how to apply social justice and activism.

Please check out the "intersectionality" of Bonhoeffer's faith - living in obedience to the Lord, believing that salvation comes only from Jesus Christ, while also actively working against the evils of his time. In 1930,during a visit to New York's Union Seminary, Bonhoeffer stated that the seminary was accelerating the secularization of Christianity in America. He observed the emphasis on "practical theology", such as whether one should even preach Christ. He also expressed concern about the American church which rarely addressed the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the cross, sin and forgiveness, death and life.

It seems there really are no belief standards at all for graduating with a degree in divinity. It will be best when they finally drop the name Luther and Lutheran from the school and church. I am sure it will be a very popular club of activists at that point.

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
