ELCA National Assembly Votes to Celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Ordaining Practicing Homosexuals, as Delegates Announce their 'Preferred Pronouns'

If you go to minute 58:30 of the video below and watch for about 7 minutes, you will see the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America discuss whether to celebrate their decision 10 years ago to ordain practicing homosexuals, a decision that caused the biggest church split in American history and which caused the ELCA huge membership loss. You will notice the delegates announce their preferred pronouns before they speak. One ELCA lesbian pastor, who is “married” to another ELCA lesbian pastor, speaks with emotion. After the discussion, delegates voted 91 per cent to celebrate their defiance of Scripture.

ELCA membership and donations are shrinking, ELCA seminaries are downsizing, one seminary has closed, but the ELCA forges ahead in affirming homosexuality and transgenderism.

I encourage you to watch a few minutes of the below. This is the bizarre new world of the ELCA where delegates tell us what their preferred pronouns are, whether those pronouns match their God-given anatomy or not.

Meanwhile, confessional Lutherans/Christians continue to celebrate Jesus, Who "did not practice affirmational inclusion — meaning, He did not meet sinners where they were and affirm them in their sin. I have a friend on Facebook who regularly posts regarding "the mentally ill on Twitter."

This is plainly the Lutheran equivalent.

This is not mental illness. This libertinism that promugated by emotional self-interest express as a religious right. Some may be mentally or emotionally unstable, but it is ignoring Scriptual Truth for affirming or accepting sin as good.

Presumably you would agree that "transgenderism" is a mental illness, i.e., severe delusional belief and behavior? I think the same can be said of those who treat the alimentary canal as a sex organ.

Why would they, how can they continue to use the word Lutheran in their name? They are not following Martin Luther's teachings.

My parents give money in my name to the long-time family church (now an ELCA church) so I do get their monthly newsletter. Its a moderately conservative congregation with a pastor I have always liked.

Today the most recent newsletter came and the pastor has a full page column talking about the recent assembly in Milwaukee. Wow, for the first time in the several years he has been there he has gone totally lefty-liberal. But he brought up other things that occurred there that is not being talked about as much.

Stuff about "white privilege" and "white supremacy". "Patriachy" and he bragged about marching on the ICE office in Milwaukee.

I see much of this is him forwarding a letter by Bishop Laurie Skow - Anderson. That makes sense. This pastor is kind of a go-along-to-get -along sort of guy. I wonder if he was told to print this. He says he went as a voting member and it appears he agrees with all of this.

This is a moderate church with dropping attendance, and the pastor (again, a guy I like) has written about many senior members who have been the largest donors, passing away. And this is supposed to help them in a town that is more conservative now than it was when I lived there?

Thinking more about this... no mention by the ELCA assembly of 50% of America's black population missing due to abortion.

Related... Milwaukee is a high crime city, but almost entirely within the black population. The ELCAers marched to the ICE office and called for open borders. That is pretty low risk. I spent some time in Milwaukee 3 months ago, including driving around the north side. I've spent time in the highest crime and most dysfunctional parts of the Twin Cities but was not prepared for what I saw in Milwaukee's north side.

Its easy for the mostly white liberals that attended the ELCA assembly to put out statements saying they are against "racism and white privilege", that they support open borders and are going to "confront white supremacy". They are basically like well off 20 year old leftwing college students trying to prove how "woke" they are.

So my question to the ELCA.. why did you not march in north Milwaukee? Clean up the needles on the front porches of houses the housed children? Try to mentor troubled people? No, that isn't something you are interested in. Making canned statements to show how leftwing you are is more your thing. ELCA, you are useless. You could have at least made an effort to help out one of the most distressed cities in the country, but that just isn't your thing, is it ELCA?

One other thought as I read his column and his mention of "Gender Justice Policy"... well hie is mostly quoting Bishop Laurie Skow-Anderson. My traditional Christian parents have given very large amounts of money to their ECLA church. When the pastor gives his talks or writes about the financial needs of this church, how come he never mentions abortion or open borders or how evil white people are? Or the ELCA's support of anti-Semitic hate groups in the Mid-East?

There are a lot of senior citizen ELCA members who, with as much respect as I can give, are clueless about what their church stands for. And their pastors cover it up when they ask for more money from them. Anti-Christian bigots say this is what conservative churches do. I say this is what leftwing churches do.
