ELCA Lutheranism: A pro-choice, pro-lesbian denomination

Below is a picture of a lesbian pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and her "wife". She has posted memes stating "I chose abortion", "This pastor is pro-choice", "Trans is beautiful" and a rainbow meme "This pastor will marry you and support you as you access reproductive healthcare. Full stop. No exceptions."

The ELCA's official abortion statement is muddled. One page sounds pro-choice, another sounds pro-life. But the bottom line is this: the ELCA pays for abortion for any reason whatsoever in its healthcare plan which is funded by offering dollars. The bottom line is also this: Recently the head bishop of the ELCA went to the White House to stand in favor of abortion rights and Roe v. Wade.

The ELCA has also become much bolder in recent years in its promotion of all things LGBT. The ELCA's national magazine, Living Lutheran, has published many pro-LGBT articles, but has not printed one article representing the traditional, biblical viewpoint on homosexuality. I know, because we asked about paying for an advertisement for a group which helps people out of homosexuality, but Living Lutheran turned us down stating that such a view no longer represents more recent teaching of the ELCA. But in 2009, when the ELCA voted to ordain practicing homosexuals, conservatives were assured that their viewpoint would also be allowed and respected. Not anymore.

May Holy Spirit inhibit their ability to steal the souls of others.

The ELCA constantly inveighs against "systemic racism" and flagellates itself for its own perceived denominational racism. At the same time, it pays for and proudly promotes unfettered abortion, far and away the number-one killer of black human beings. The founder of BlackGenocide.org, Rev. Clenard Childress, Jr., wrote, “The most dangerous place for an African- American to be is in the womb of his African-American mother.”

Slogan-spouting ELCA pastors and bishops couldn't care less about the slaughter of the innocent. But then, seared-conscience moral lunacy is what you get when you revise and expurgate your Bible to suit your sin-spurred whims. (You also get, thanks be to God, a flood of members fleeing your empty shell of a church.)

Any Christian still attending an ELCA “church” has got to be suffering from some sort of Stockholm syndrome. Get out now!

Literally every aspect of the true Christian faith is treated as subject to interpretation by the ELCA. They are basically Unitarian Universalist. There are no hard truths in their mind. However, they do treat the LGBT and pro-choice positions as gospel truth.

Besides bowing to the feminists and the gay agenda, the ELCA also openly rejects the sanctity of marriage. Sex out of wedlock? Permitted. Shacking up? Permitted. LGBT? Permitted. Pornography? Permitted. And now there is a bizzare so-called “polyamory” movement with people taking open relationships to the extreme.

I remember when I was a kid, the church elders or the pastor discreetly asked certain people to leave the church building or resign from committees. If you were openly shacking up, openly a Freemason, openly/unapologetically gay, or if it came to light that you were cheating on your spouse, you were asked to leave until you repented and returned in good faith. Some Lutherans, ironically, even called it “excommunication”. I think Martin Luther would have agreed with the practice but would have suggested we use a different word given his history.

Also, I remember in my small town when the local movie rental store opened up a back room with dirty movies. The local churches, even the Lutherans, boycotted the business entirely. One Sunday we all brought our video store membership cards to the front of the church and later they were burned. You wouldn’t dare be caught in there. Our stance probably sounds extreme to young people today, but it was very common back then. Nowadays pornography is both permitted and encouraged by false teachers.

Freemasons are also permitted nowadays. I have heard of several pastors and organists who are openly Freemason and even wear their Scottish Rite kilts on certain Sundays.

I’m also somewhat old fashioned on women’s ordination. I think there is enough scriptural evidence to suggest that God, through Paul’s letters, is favoring men to be in the lead pastor role and women to be permitted in secondary pastoral roles (such as a secondary pastor, associate pastor, or deacon.) But women in the lead pastor role is not supported by scripture, and unlike ELCA, I refuse to simply toss out verses that arent politically correct.

There are differences among ELCA congregations when it comes to life in the womb. Listen to Mike at this point in his message: https://youtu.be/ANzwmllfi_0?t=2150. For it's largest congregation, it makes me wonder how long these differences will go on for until the ELCA does what other denominations have done to get their churches in line up to and including taking over the building.

I'm sure there are a few pastors in the ELCA that are prolife but that number is less every month. (I didn't hear Mike say anything prolife or against abortion in the first 10 minutes of listening)

Hope has chosen to be part of the ELCA. The sins of the ELCA are on them. They have chosen to be part of an abortion loving, sin encouraging, Jew-hating, Bible-denying, woke, LGBT applauding, goddess worshipping, all go to heaven believing, etc. denomination.

They even support the ELCA.

But you are right, soon the ELCA will force every church and pastor to commit to agree with their blasphemous beliefs.
