ELCA Lutheran congregation celebrates “International Non-Binary People’s Day”

Who knew that there is an international day celebrating people who don’t identify as male or female? And who knew that some congregations of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America would celebrate it? Well, I guess I did. The ELCA supports abortion rights, homosexuality, and transgenderism, so why not this?

Especially deceiving is that it states “power can come from knowing who you are”. But, tragically, non-binary people don’t know who they are, so they identify as neither male nor female. Jesus, on the other hand, said that God made us “male and female” (Matthew 19:4).

The hashtags #LGBTQIALutheran and #QueerLutheran are appended to the tweet of "Christ" "Lutheran" Church.

Martin Luther and Dietrich Bonhoeffer warn in no uncertain terms, "Think again, all of you sin-promoting 'Lutheran' counterfeits, and repent while you still have time to repent."

** Luther on Gal. 6:14:”The cross of Christ has condemned everything that the world calls good, including wisdom and righteousness…Some seek honor, riches, and pleasure for the name of Jesus…Do they boast about the cross of Christ? No. Rather, they glory in the world while using the name of Christ for appearances. They end up making a mockery of it.” (LW 27:404)

** Luther on Gen. 19:24-5 — “Arrogant and stubborn people despise the Word of God and laugh at well-intentioned words of caution…We must guard against this false teaching. It’s not enough for these people to bring destruction on themselves. They intend to drag us down with them. Like the people of Sodom, they don’t realize that their sins will soon be punished.”(LW, 3:239)

** Luther on Gal. 5:16 — “Persisting in sin is disastrous...Those who obey the sinful nature and continue to gratify its desires should know that they don’t belong to Christ. Even though people may label themselves with the name ‘Christian,’ they are only deceiving themselves.” (LW, 27:80)

** Luther on Mark 4:15—“Satan keeps on tempting people to commit sexual sins and other terrible crimes because he doesn’t want people to believe in what God says and does. But the church and God’s people should regard Satan’s attacks on God’s Word and work as especially dangerous…Letting go of God’s Word is the root of all temptations.”(LW, 1:146)

** Bonhoeffer: "Cheap grace is the preaching of forgiveness without requiring repentance, baptism without church discipline, Communion without confession, absolution without personal confession. At the bottom of that FB post is that all-to-familiar “Reconciling in Christ” logo. I first learned about the so- called “reconciling” churches way back in 2010. I thought maybe a handful of churches would ever flaunt their liberalism like that, but now I’m seeing the logo all over my neck of the woods, especially in Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, and West Virginia.

Reconciling Works or Reconciling in Christ (RIC) states on their website that they actually believe that the Apostle Paul taught us work against “heterosexism” and to “reconcile” with the LGBT community. They also, on the webaite, throw around their favorite nonsense words such as “sexism, ageism, able-ism, and homophobia”.

Paul literallly declared God’s condemnation of the entire LGBT lifestyle in Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, and 1 Timothy 1:9-10. Those verses are very plain and simple on the matter. Even some wacky liberal seminary professor obsessed with picking apart Koine Greek etymology cannot do enough language gymnastics to deny Paul’s feelings on homosexuality. Hebrews and Jude also discuss the sins of Sodom and Gommorah.

And “non-binary” is such a new invented concept that it would have been an alien idea to the ancient world. And the ELCA has ignored not only scripture but also basic biology. So-called non-binary people are more accurately called “intentionally abiguous to get attention”. A tomboy girl or sissy-boy boy were people we all encountered in school. But these were childhood phases that sort of work themselves out after high school.

My opinion is that these Gen Z (mainly) folks are following a trend of this wicked world. Its a fad and phase. But the Devil is clever and it takes being washed in the blood of Christ to break free. With so many people de-transitioning, giving up LGBT lifestyles, and going straight, it is evident that God can overcome these lifestyles for those willing to believe.

In my area it's more than apparent that the only church that are growing in big numbers are the more conservative churches that actually have moral compass teaching. I said it before in a different post but I'll say it again, the ELCA will soon be on life support because nothing they teach is worth a tinker's damn in terms of eternal things.
