ELCA Lutheran church sign: 'God is proud of all Their children'

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Their church sign is on a busy highway and states “God is proud of all Their children”. The word “proud” is in gay rainbow colors. Thus God is no longer a “He” but a “They” in order to make God non-binary and trans-friendly.

The church is just a few minutes from my house and years ago it had a godly, Bible-preaching pastor, but that pastor left and I visited Prince of Peace a few years ago to see a rainbow sign in the church office. Today if you go to the Prince of Peace website, the pastors and staff all list their preferred pronouns, because if you are a “he” but identify as a “she” or a “they”, Prince of Peace wants to be sensitive.

What would the real Prince of Peace say to all this? He already said it in Matthew 19:4, “He who made them in the beginning made them male and female”. Notice, Jesus calls God “He” not “They”, and says there are only two genders, male and female.

I believe it is blasphemy to change God’s “preferred pronoun” (He) to make God fit the LGBT agenda. May God have mercy on Prince of Peace Lutheran and return it to sanity. In the meantime, this church will continue to be a horrible witness to the people driving by in Brooklyn Park.

I think it is interesting that in my area, there are plenty of Lutheran churches. The elca ones no longer put their synod affiliation on their signs.

This is grammatically incorrect. “Their” is plural. Or do they believe there is more than one god?

The embrace of transgenderism follows directly from the false Gospel of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

These two developments go hand-in-hand, as each requires and demands the other. Leading up to August 2025 and beyond in the ELCA, the “true believers” are simply going to become more and more fervent.

So, yes, the train is “going down the grade, making 90 miles an hour.. shovel on a little more coal!” The trainwreck will be accelerated by this false religion of DEI.

This would be my resposnse to the pastor of that church: Even though Genesis shows God during creation refering to Himself in Hebrew as “We” (evidence of the Trinity), I think both Christian and Jewish bible scholars woud be appalled at the notion of God as a “they”. Yes there is one Godhead in three persons but there is no schozophrenia or mulpile personalities. The three persona share a common will and mind. So a rendering of “they” makes no sense theologically, grammatically, or linguistically. And I’m still waiting for the ELCA feminists to show me where the alleged “Divine Feminine” is in scripture.

Speaking of feminists, I have yet to meet one woman pastor in the ELCA who has not gone off the deep end. In my experience, I have only seen them use their sermon time to try to score social justice points. For example, one I heard give a sermon for the gospel reading about King Herod slaughtering the innocents. She related it to school shootings and pushed for gun reform for about 15 minutes straight. She called gun violence the biggest killer of innocent children. Um, hello? How about abortion??? But she like all feminists purposely ignore abortion because they see it as “healthcare”.
