ELCA Celebrates Women's History Month By Featuring Man

Claiming to celebrate women, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) featured a man who is transgender in an ELCA article for Women's History Month. (See here)

It is an incredible display of disrespect and mansplaining for a man to be highlighted for Women's History Month and then for him to explain what he believes "are the most pressing issues facing all women today?" and what actions "the ELCA could take to better support and empower women within the church and in the wider community?"

This is the world we live in, where those who claim Christianity encourage sin, deny science, and reject God's creation. Where society and faux Christian denominations propagate and generate the belief that men are women, usurping the dignity and blessings of women.

Thank God for churches that haven't prostrated themselves before the world. Although the Catholic Church has its high-ranking apostates, most of its U.S. bishops stand Biblically and publicly against the murder of God's preborn creations and the chemical castration and surgical mutilation of His already-born children. The ELCA doesn't have a solitary bishop who publicly stands against murder and mutilation.

On March 20, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops issued a “doctrinal note” -- https://www.usccb.org/resources/Doctrinal%20Note%202023-03-20_0.pdf -- condemning sex-change surgery and medication, especially for minors, as “not morally justified.”

“These technological interventions are not morally justified either as attempts to repair a defect in the body or as attempts to sacrifice a part of the body for the sake of the whole,” the bishops stated concerning sex-change surgeries and puberty blockers. “Such interventions, thus, do not respect the fundamental order of the human person as an intrinsic unity of body and soul, with a body that is sexually differentiated.

“Particular care should be taken to protect children and adolescents, who are still maturing and who are not capable of providing informed consent.”

“Catholic health care services must not perform interventions, whether surgical or chemical, that aim to transform the sexual characteristics,” the bishops stated, while using “all appropriate resources to mitigate the suffering of those who struggle with gender incongruence.”

“The mission of Catholic health care services,” the bishops concluded, “is nothing less than to carry on the healing ministry of Jesus, to provide healing at every level, physical, mental, and spiritual.”

Martin Luther, who, were he alive today, would have either fled or been summarily booted from the ELCA, Biblically echoes today's faithful Catholic bishops:

In the first part we shall consider which persons may enter into marriage with one another. In order to proceed aright let us direct our attention to Genesis 1 [:27], “So God created man . . . male and female he created them.” From this passage we may be assured that God divided mankind into two classes, namely, male and female, or a he and a she. This was so pleasing to him that he himself called it a good creation [Gen. 1:31]. Therefore, each one of us must have the kind of body God has created for us. I cannot make myself a woman, nor can you make yourself a man; we do not have that power. But we are exactly as he created us: I a man and you a woman. Moreover, he wills to have his excellent handiwork honored as his divine creation, and not despised. The man is not to despise or scoff at the woman or her body, nor the woman the man. But each should honor the other’s image and body as a divine and good creation that is well‑pleasing unto God himself."
