Could this ELCA synod be talking about conservative and/or Bible-believing Christians?
They don't like you, but I would bet they will still gladly take your money.
----- The belief in universalism is strong in the ELCA, as you know if you frequent this website. Here is another example - “I believe God is big enough to have many ways to be reached; although I confess Christianity, I also believe there are many other paths to God.” – The Rev. Patt Kauffman on ELCA clergy Uncensored Facebook group. The link goes to the Closed group, which only those in the group may view. (here) ----- An ELCA news story about the recent terrorist attacks in Paris and Beirut does not mention the Islamic faith of the terrorists. (see here) I wonder why the ELCA is so free to condemn Israel (falsely, I might add) but they can not state the facts and motivation behind the terrorists actions we are seeing worldwide. ----- Wartburg College, an Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) school, shared a video of their “Weekday Interfaith Chapel” (Sept. 30, 2015) in which a Hindu prayer was offered by the guest speaker. (see video here. View the video dated Sept. 30, 3015)

Wanna talk about anger, ELCA? There's a lot of it -- vindictive pettiness, too -- being directed against the shrinking band of confessional Lutherans in the ELCA by the denomination's our-way-or-the-highway LGBT apostates.

Regarding the Hindu prayer, right up until they were carted off to exile, the Israelites worshiped the LORD God. Their sin was that they were worshiping other gods at the same time, sometimes in His temple. But maybe that commandment about idolatry is just another thing Christians don't need to worry about because we aren't under the Levitical law (sarcasm).

Idolatry is first and foremost addressed in the 1st commandment of the 10 commandments.

Regarding Rev. Patt Kauffman or anyone else who says "...although I confess Christianity, I also believe there are many other paths to God.” No, you do not confess Christianity. You confess syncretism (look it up). What Christ and Christianity confess is this: "I [Jesus] am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6). Jesus Christ IS big enough to be the ONLY way. If you knew Christ, you would know that. I hope someday you will know Him. Try taking a break from your Facebook group, and spend some time in the Bible with bona fide Christians. You have nothing to lose but the lies.

As a political conservative, I am feeling more and more out of place within the ELCA and within almost any other main stream church denomination. As most main stream churches shifted toward a “social gospel” starting in the 70’s and leaning further left until most church leaders, pastors, bishops, etc., are virtual socialists. I hear over and over a continual onslaught against capitalism and a continual demonization of wealth in any form. In a recent liturgy, we were asked to be “in solidarity” with the poor and underprivileged. I almost choked on the phrase! Isn’t this what communism was founded on? Solidarity? How about any other term, like “in sympathy”, or “in support”? With more than 60% of proclaimed, church attending people describing themselves as conservatives or moderates it is no wonder that mainline denominations are in continual decline. My own personal dilemma is that I cannot ascribe to the “anti-gay” and closed salvation stance of many of the so-called evangelical churches. What I don’t understand is why has this shift toward socialism become so popular with the churches, even the Catholic church? The church as a whole, depends on contributions from members to survive. Many of those members participate in capitalism in order to make a living and yet this very method from which churches depend on for their very survival is demonized from many pulpits. Is it no wonder that the church is in decline? In many surveys, most liberals describe themselves as “religious” with no church affiliation. So, the message that has been proclaimed since the 70’s has been alienating political conservatives but not gaining any membership from political liberals. I don’t think I am alone in my feelings and know personally many who are “life-long” Lutherans who have left the church and are not attending anywhere else because of the obvious political stance of the ELCA
