If true, this is truly disturbing.
An ELCA member tweets "I spoke to the former presiding bishop of the ELCA a few months ago, & he said, it is A-OK to embrace "religious hybridity".
If true, this is truly disturbing.
ELCA Pastor Joelle Colville-Hanson is the Director for Evangelical Mission for the Northeastern Iowa Synod. Her social media posts contain lots of anger and politics. Below she calls a U.S. Congressman Steve King a "old white racist."
It seems Rev. Colville-Hanson thinks the United States is pretty racist and sexist too. (See here and below.)

Below you will find quotes by two ELCA bishops in support of Extraordinary Lutheran Ministries (ELM). ELM describes itself as a "professional community for publicly identified gender and sexual minority ministers and candidates" (See here )
The first quote is by Delaware-Maryland Synod Bishop William Gohl.
Extraordinary Lutheran Ministries has an article that addresses this on its website. The article shares a quote from Bishop Kirby Unti of the Northwest Washington Synod that says, “The church has entered a time when what we need are effective adaptive leaders. Our LGBTQIA+ ministers tend to be some of our best adaptive leaders. Their lives have relied upon adaptive sensibilities in order to thrive.” (See here)
See the ELCA church's tweet below. It doesn't say what the referred to family needs sanctuary from, but you all probably have a good guess. Two ELCA church's are involved.
The tweeted link says "Miriam Vargas entered sanctuary on June 27, 2018 at First English Lutheran Church."
The fundraising event was hosted by the Columbus Sanctuary Collective. Here is what that group's Facebook page looks like.
This is what the ELCA has become. A denomination where their pastors/leaders reject the clear teaching of God and in this case, are in favor of people sleeping together (having sex) before marriage. (See Hebrews 13:4 to learn what God has to say on this topic, for starters). Seems God's Word is just ignored now in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
ELCA members should ask themselves what their current ELCA pastor believes, and does not believe, when it comes to God's Word? Additionally, contemplate what future pastors in your church family, trained by the ELCA, will believe about God's Word and what they will be teaching the congregation.
Sexual abuse is evil, sinful and wrong but God does forgive those who seek forgiveness. This ELCA bishop should know that and not even hint that people can not find forgiveness for any of their sins.
New England Synod Bishop Jim Hazelwood at ICE protest.
ELCA bishop Jim Hazelwood, of the New England Synod, is outspoken in his support of LGBTQ issues. God tells us in scripture it is a sin that one should not participate in, but that is of no concern with the ELCA.
Lefty ELCA Pastor Jason Chesnut, co-creator of multiple vile "devotionals" (see here) seems to be saying there are more than two genders with his retweet. Science and truth are your friend, Rev. Chesnut.
Homosexual ELCA bishop Guy Erwin, of the Southwest California Synod.
ELCA pastor Elizabeth Rawlings is an ELCA campus pastor at the University of Washington. She has a lot to say about almost every topic that the liberal left cares about. It kind of scares me. We will start this off with something Rev. Rawlings shared that seems to be saying there is no eternal hell.
Here are some more disturbing posts by this ELCA pastor:
Be sure to catch these quotes -
"If you want to take this further, as you breathe, imagine there is a light shining somewhere outside of you. Feel the light shine on your body. Feel its warmth. That light is love/God/spirit/creatrix. Breathe it in. Fill your body with the light and love of that which made you."
"If your cosmology allows for it, picture yourself surrounded by Jesus, ancestors, Angels, guiding spirits, a cloud of witnesses, (whatever works for the way you walk in the world) all holding you and keeping you safe." (See here also)
Reproductive health care is important Rev. Rawlings and she seems (see below) to be supportive of Planned Parenthood.
Rev. Rawlings shared this Facebook post by Linda Tirado.
Bishop Michael Rinehart of the ELCA's Texas-Louisiana Gulf Coast Synod often spouts his political and social justice opinions online. Yesterday he wrote about the migrant caravan heading to the United States saying, "There are no terrorists in the caravan,.." Of course he has no way to know this.
The bishop continues, "...though the white nationalist anti-immigration folks want you to think so."
This is the state of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
Last month ELCA Rev. Joelle Colville-Hanson, in all of her wisdom, tweeted this to Franklin Graham.
Remember, she is employed by the ELCA, which has turned against the clear teaching of Scripture and historic Christianity to side with abortion, encouraging sexual sin, preaching universalism, not evangelizing, teaching the Bible is a book of myths, standing against Israel, etc. I pray she and all ELCA leaders will repent of their faith and soul destroying ways.
Sounds like ELCA Bishop Jim Hazelwood supports players kneeling during the national anthem.
Bishop Jim Hazelwood should know misappropriation when he sees it, being he is in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, who using this technique often to do things that go against God's Word. Don't miss the vile language used by this supposed minister of Christ.
Jim Hazelwood, the ELCA's New England Synod Bishop, presents a skewed view of Scripture and is manipulating it to try and fit it into the refugee situation happening in the United States.
ELCA New England Synod Bishop, Jim Hazelwood retweeted the below tweet. It seems to be saying that conservative evangelicals are racists. I wonder what he thinks about conservatives who are still members in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America?
BTW, the Jewish people have a variety of skin tones. God's Word does not tell us the color of Jesus' skin.
See the bishop's Twitter page here. Go to his retweet made Sept. 20, 2018.
From ELCA pastor Lenny Duncan. I wonder if calling someone something they are not is a sin in Rev. Duncan's eyes.
The ELCA is a member of the National Council of Churches (NCC). This week the NCC released a statement saying, "The National Council of Churches (NCC) calls for the withdrawal of the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court of the United States. We believe he has disqualified himself from this lifetime appointment and must step aside immediately." (See here)
See “'Massive' National Council of Churches Arises!" for more information.
Also on that topic, New England Synod Bishop Jim Hazelwood tweeted this:
And this from an ELCA pastor -
And this from an ELCA pastor who works at the Northeastern Iowa Synod -
And from this ELCA pastor -
