'Specialty Commissioned Song' Part of ELCA Synod's Honoring of Ministry to Immigrants and Refugees
The ELCA's Rocky Mountain Synod took time during their Synod Assembly this year to offer "...deep gratitude and a specialty commissioned song to honor the ministry happening at the Border and the ministries accompanying immigrants and refugees.
The Rocky Mountain Synod, ELCA took to Facebook to celebrate one of their churches becoming a Reconciling in Christ (RIC) church. "The Reconciling in Christ (RIC) Program is for congregations, synods, colleges, seminaries, and other Lutheran organizations and ministry communities who have made a public commitment to welcome, include and celebrate lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA+) people." For good measure, the Northwest Washington Synod of the ELCA proudly posts pictures of "Loving Lutherans out a PRIDE in Bellingham!"
