ELCA seminary, Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago (LSTC), has taken to Facebook to shine a spotlight on some of their first-year seminary students. The below profile is of Phillip Potaczek, a Master of Divinity student. In the profile we learn Phillip is gay and has a husband.
God tells us in many places in scripture that homosexuality is a sin. We also know that God calls on us to repent of our sins. If you care about gay people you will lovingly tell them that. Instead of encouraging repentance of homosexual relations, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America presents it as "good." People with same-sex attraction deserve to know the truth. They need to know that bondage to sin can separate them from God.
