An ELCA member tweets "I spoke to the former presiding bishop of the ELCA a few months ago, & he said, it is A-OK to embrace "religious hybridity".
If true, this is truly disturbing.

ELCA Pastor Joelle Colville-Hanson is the Director for Evangelical Mission for the Northeastern Iowa Synod. Her social media posts contain lots of anger and politics. Below she calls a U.S. Congressman Steve King a "old white racist."
It seems Rev. Colville-Hanson thinks the United States is pretty racist and sexist too. (See here and below.)
Below you will find quotes by two ELCA bishops in support of Extraordinary Lutheran Ministries (ELM). ELM describes itself as a "professional community for publicly identified gender and sexual minority ministers and candidates" (See here ) The first quote is by Delaware-Maryland Synod Bishop William Gohl. (See here) Extraordinary Lutheran Ministries has an article that addresses this on its website. The article shares a quote from Bishop Kirby Unti of the Northwest Washington Synod that says, “The church has entered a time when what we need are effective adaptive leaders. Our LGBTQIA+ ministers tend to be some of our best adaptive leaders. Their lives have relied upon adaptive sensibilities in order to thrive.” (See here)
See the ELCA church's tweet below. It doesn't say what the referred to family needs sanctuary from, but you all probably have a good guess. Two ELCA church's are involved.
The tweeted link says "Miriam Vargas entered sanctuary on June 27, 2018 at First English Lutheran Church."
The fundraising event was hosted by the Columbus Sanctuary Collective. Here is what that group's Facebook page looks like.
This is what the ELCA has become. A denomination where their pastors/leaders reject the clear teaching of God and in this case, are in favor of people sleeping together (having sex) before marriage. (See Hebrews 13:4 to learn what God has to say on this topic, for starters). Seems God's Word is just ignored now in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. ELCA members should ask themselves what their current ELCA pastor believes, and does not believe, when it comes to God's Word? Additionally, contemplate what future pastors in your church family, trained by the ELCA, will believe about God's Word and what they will be teaching the congregation.
Sexual abuse is evil, sinful and wrong but God does forgive those who seek forgiveness. This ELCA bishop should know that and not even hint that people can not find forgiveness for any of their sins.
New England Synod Bishop Jim Hazelwood at ICE protest.
ELCA bishop Jim Hazelwood, of the New England Synod, is outspoken in his support of LGBTQ issues. God tells us in scripture it is a sin that one should not participate in, but that is of no concern with the ELCA.
