High profile ELCA trans pastor Megan Rohrer, who is often featured in ELCA publications, held an Advent Drag Fundraiser.
The faux Christian theology of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America makes this kind of sinful event permissible.
(The following article, written this summer, is from Rev. Tom Brock of pastorsstudy.org. You can follow Pastor Brock on Facebook - here and Twitter - here.) Tap on this link: https://www.facebook.com/metronysynod/ and you will find at least 41 (I stopped counting) posts and videos from the Metropolitan Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America promoting LGBT pride. Included in the posts is “Queer and Faithful and Bishop”, an interview with Kevin Strickland, a homosexual ELCA bishop with a “husband”. Also posted is “Queer and Faithful and Drag Queen storytime” for children. Back in 2009 when the ELCA voted to ordain practicing homosexuals, conservatives were assured their view would also be respected. No. Not one of the above 41 posts upholds the Bible’s teaching that homosexual behavior is sinful (see my article “What does the Bible teach about homosexuality?” at pastorsstudy.org). I spent years in the ELCA before leading my congregation into a more biblical branch of Lutheranism. But i never thought the ELCA would become this perverse and radical in my lifetime. Sincerely in Christ, Pastor Tom Brock View here.
The ELCA Young Adults in Global Mission tweeted about the ELCA American Indian/Alaska Native Lutheran Association recently. One of the missions of that group states:
"Work toward unity in the community of faith by pledging ourselves to promote the understanding that many traditional Native spiritual practices are inherently Christian and are accepted forms of worship." Most Christians should be very concerned about this position. We are told in Scripture - I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed. For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ. - Galatians 1:6-10.
The LGBT affirming Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary (PLTS) hosted a lecture focused on climate that called for a "radical reformation of the way we think and act in the age of a changing climate. Our hope for the future on this earth depends on it."
PLTS is a seminary of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).
Amy Current is the newly elected Bishop of the Southeastern Iowa Synod. She is an LGBTQ ally. On her social media she writes, "I believe love is love. I believe that God desires us to be fully ourselves. I have so much more to learn in order to be a better ally. Thank you for those who keep teaching me."
Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago (LSTC), a school of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, published an article on one of their websites that was written by Katherine Parent, a PhD student at the school. The article contained a picture of a female Jesus on the cross.
The fact that this ELCA seminary posted this blasphemous depiction of our Lord and Savior tells you a lot about the school, which is entrusted to train up pastors for the church. (See the article here)
Patricia Lull is the bishop of the Saint Paul Area Synod, ELCA. She shared this advice on how to be trans-inclusive last year.
Sarah Trone Garriott is a pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America who has garnered some attention by running for a seat in the Iowa state senate (read about that here).
Rev. Trone Garriott is the Coordinator of Interfaith Engagement for the Des Moines Area Religious Council and is very involved in the interfaith movement, as you can see below. Pastor Sarah Trone Garriott is running as a Democrat. From her social media posts you will see she believes in a woman's "right to chose." Additionally, a few years ago Rev. Trone Garriott joined (ELCA megachurch) Lutheran Church of Hope Sr. Pastor Mike Housholder in submitting a resolution to the ELCA's Southeastern Iowa Synod Assembly seeking to bring more refugees into the United States. (see here) ELCA pastor Garroitt proclaims her identifying pronouns as "She/hers." Abortion is an important topic to this ELCA pastor.
ELCA Pastor Jason Chesnut is an extreme radical. His type are becoming increasingly more common in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. He is the co-creator of multiple vile "devotionals" (see here) and is someone Exposing the ELCA has highlighted in the past. (See here)
Below is a tweet where Rev. Chesnut blasphemes God:
Another ELCA pastor, Lura Groen, is equally as heretical. (Read more about her here). Rev. Groen tweets:
The same professors and schools that trained ELCA pastors like these two train almost all ELCA pastors.
Last month ELCA pastor Emily Scott shared an article about someone who tagged a political billboard so it reads "Cancel rent and f($%)k the police."
Emily Scott is a high profile ELCA pastor who the ELCA brought in to speak at the 2015 ELCA Youth Gathering. (read more about Rev. Scott here)
The ELCA is becoming more and more vocal on their social justice pet causes:
Some of the other signers include: Abolish ICE Denver National Center for Lesbian Rights National Center for Transgender Equality National LGBTQ Task Force Southern Poverty Law Center Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington, VA Unitarian Universalist Service Committee URGE: Unite for Reproductive & Gender Equity (See here)
The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America is targeting youth by way of ELCA summer camps for kids. The ELCA's Living Lutheran reports,
"On Feb. 4, the ELCA announced the initiative Total Inclusion! Widening the Welcome at ELCA Outdoor Ministries. The program, made possible by Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies, is designed to equip and empower outdoor ministry organizations as they move toward more intentional welcome of people who historically have been marginalized in the church—especially people of color, people with disabilities and people who identify as LGBTQIA+." (see article here) The ELCA has been championing the gay, lesbian and transgender agenda for over a decade. Don't be fooled by the word "Welcome." The ELCA is making a strong push to celebrate and encourage these lifestyles among young people. They are sending a clear message. ELCA churches and members who believe God's Word have to ask why they remain in a denomination that is harming people and teaching in direct opposition to God's will. The Holy Spirit convicts us of our sin, and the ELCA is standing in opposition to the Holy Spirit. They are actively working against God, who wants us to turn from sin, to repent of our sinful ways.
ELCA seminarian Elle Dowd presented at the Wild Goose Festival last year. Her session was titled "Bisexuality and the Liturgy."
And here is ELCA seminarian Elle Dowd at another conference presenting on "Bi + Identities and the Church."
Shelley Bryan Wee was elected Bishop of the Northwest Washington Synod, ELCA last summer. Rev. Wee is the former Assistant to the Bishop at Northwest Washington Synod, ELCA.
Shortly after the election ELCA Bishop elect, Shelley Bryan Wee did something many ELCA bishops do, she marched in a gay Pride parade. How can persons who believe God's Word that homosexuality is not God's will for people continue to support this denomination?
The following Tweet has ELCA bishop Shelley Brayan Wee telling a bisexual woman that "your sexuality...is beloved of God."
The new ELCA Bishop lists her "preferred pronouns" on her Twitter page - On "#BiVisibilityDay" Bishop Shelley Bryan Wee calls herself an ally and replies to a gay person's tweet saying that God "celebrates YOU in all your amazing personhood." -
Sharing some Big Bang mythology Bishop Bryan Wee writes "we are both creatures of the dirt and the heavens. For the dust that formed us came from eons ago across the galaxies when stars exploded and new life emerged.
So as a creature formed by God's hands from the dust of this earth (this earth that in turn was created from stardust)..." (See below) Additional Tweets by ELCA bishop Shelley Bryan Wee - — Shelley Bryan Wee (@shelbwee) August 12, 2019 ELCA Bishop Shelley Bryan Wee at "the wall" - This last Tweet is about the United Methodist vote over gay marriage -

Dawn Bennett, a "queer and cisgender" pastor of the liberal Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, has posted her Easter sermon. The point of the sermon is "Do not be afraid" to be your true, authentic gay, transgender self for this is "who God created you to be." She also reads from the Inclusive Bible and prays to "Holy Father, Holy Mother, Holy Parent", saying "Thank you for our queerness." The Bible teaches homosexual behavior is sin (for all the verses, see my article "What does the Bible say about homosexuality?" at pastorsstudy.org). Jesus taught that God made us "male and female" (Matthew 19:4). He did not add "or gay, or transgender, or bisexual, or omnisexual or queer". Sincerely in Christ, Pastor Tom Brock
A Wartburg College Professor, whose Twitter URL is "@feminismxianity", last summer tweeted -
"Our @WartburgCollege team of staff & faculty engaging diversity & inclusion work at the Vocation of a Lutheran College Conference @AugsburgU this week @elca #WartburgWorthIt" The conference held by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America Network of Colleges and Universities was titled "Beyond Privilege: Engaging Diversity, Inclusion and Equity."
It is sad to see so much money, given by many who loved the Lord, in the hands of a denomination, the ELCA, that has turned its back on God and His Word.
Elle Dowd is a highly controversial pastoral intern, but she is not controversial in her denomination, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). In the ELCA she is perfectly normal and accepted. Elle Dowd has over 4000 followers on her "public figure" Facebook page and is an example of what ELCA seminaries are producing. The ELCA leader's Facebook "about" section says "Elle Dowd (she/her/hers) is a bi-furious seminarian at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago and a candidate for ordained ministry in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America currently serving as the full time pastoral intern." (See here)
The following documents Elle Dowd's thoughts and agenda. This is only a small sample. You can also read more about the future ELCA pastor here. |
