ELCA Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton tweeted:
So the poor that are LEAVING Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras seeking asylum in the United States will be hurt by President Trump's decision to cut aid to those countries?

Pastors can make over $100k at many churches so the bishops make around a Quarter MILLION

I've seen many people from those countries say they are glad Trump is cutting payments. The money doesn't get to them anyway. It just helps the crooked governments. It's foolish to think more money will help the problem.

It makes perfect sense! The poor who weren't getting our money then; aren't getting it now - especially since they have left and it is Trump's fault. Leftist thinking at it's finest!

The ELCA is as crooked as the Guatemalan government. They too want more money to lie to the people. Those countries need to oust their corrupt leaders from power just as the ELCA needs to oust their wolves from leadership as well.

This should clear things up a bit: 1. asylum is not cash. 2. America's deficit means we borrow all the money we "give" to foreign aid. 3. Those 3 central American countries are expatriating their own natives much like the trail of tears, but without even a reservation at the end. That's a lousy thing for us to subsidize with borrowed money. 4. Eaton, Lutheran social services, etc. can still send their own aid if they want.
