ELCA Office Joins Opposition to Federal Marriage Amendment - An Open letter on ELCA
As members of congregations of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, we write to express our strong disagreement with the decision of the Lutheran Office for Governmental Affairs (LOGA ) to become a signatory to the statement of several religious organizations opposing the Federal Marriage Amendment (FMA).  We believe it is a serious mistake for LOGA to take this stance, and we ask you to reconsider this unfortunate decision. . .
Would you prayerfully consider blessing Exposing the ELCA as you have been blessed?

_Is God a Liberal Democrat?

. . .Observe that the Lutherans cite government as “an important catalyst in God’s work.” In fact, their agenda implies that government is virtually God’s only instrument. The Lutherans want government to abolish poverty, prohibit war, cleanse the environment, engineer egalitarian justice globally, and seemingly usher in The Millennium through additional regulation and taxation. If government can achieve so much, who needs God, much less the church?. . .

ELCA council proposes changing rules to make it harder for congregations to leave (The rules were changed in August 2011)

Leaders of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America are proposing changing rules to make it harder for congregations to leave the church body. . .

Decline of Missionaries supported by the ELCA

Chart starting from 1961 and going to 2000.

Words Do Matter

. . .Additionally, the ELCA’s own words betray their true intentions when one views their official webpage on the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This text is particularly troubling. After a brief synopsis of Scripture inferring that the bodily resurrection of Christ may have been misrepresented in Scripture. . .

ELCA Inflating the Number of its Missionaries?

(pdf. article from 2002, has a lot of good information)
. . .The numbers make quite clear that ELCA mission work is way down from what it was in the ELCA's predecessor church bodies. . .

ELCA Leader Says Christians Worship Same God as Muslims

. . .Rev. Hanson, in August of 2006 wrote "An Open Letter to Jewish, Muslim, and Christian Leaders" in which he said, "(t)he one God whom we worship is a God not only of judgment, but of mercy and peace."  Hanson goes on to say. . .

Kingdom Now Or Apocalypse Next

. . .Now, let’s evaluate Bishop Hanson’s statement. He said that if you are a believer in a biblical end-times scenario that is based on taking the Bible literally, you are dangerous and counterproductive to the cause of Christ. He would like to form a council made up of Roman Catholics, Orthodox, Anglicans and like-minded Lutherans to investigate and deal with this “crisis”. . .

What Would Luther Say? — A Church Apologizes for Church Discipline

. . .That’s right — the church actually confessed the “sin” of having once stood on biblical ground, and the “sin” of exercising church discipline. . .

Crimes of Omission - by Don Kriefall

. . .enlightened leaders of the ELCA just don’t understand why their membership continues to dwindle and that congregations faithful to the Lord want to break fellowship to affiliate with a denomination true to the Gospel. . .

The Cult of Liberalism by Dr. Walter Martin (MP3 - Starts near the 1/3 mark and goes past the 4/5 mark)

(about Liberal Theology - well worth hearing!) . . .There is a progression that takes place in liberal theology: It begins with a corrupt bibliology, a corrupt view of the nature and the inspiration of Scripture. They have a corrupt theology because once you are picking and choosing from the Bible what you want, your theology has to suffer from it, because your human reason is corrupt… every major theological seminary that has turned from orthodox Christianity began with disbelief of Biblical doctrine. There wasn’t a single exception. . .

ELCA - Another Apostate Denomination

. . . Promotion of the feminist agenda, sanctioning of abortion and homosexuality, gender-neutralizing worship, gender-neutralizing God and Jesus, promoting homosexual adoption. The ELCA is apostate and should be abandoned by all true Christians.

Genesis Is What?

. . .No wonder the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) is so theologically liberal as a whole! Here is a person who is in teaching authority in a seminary, indoctrinating future “shepherds” for churches not to believe God’s Word in Genesis. So sad. . .

Synod won’t let Florida congregation leave the ELCA

The members of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Fort Pierce, Fla., voted unanimously in two required votes to end their affiliation with the ELCA. But their synod won’t let them go. . .

Nebraska Synod refuses to let congregation leave. - Also -Texas synod taking a hard line against those who leave

A congregation in Nebraska has been told that its synod will not let it leave the ELCA in spite of voting twice to leave the church body by more than the required two-thirds majority. . .

When Faith and Farming Collide- Part 2

. . .The basic principle I keep coming back to is that I do NOT believe it is the church's place to give recommendations on farm management practices. . .

When Faith and Farming Collide: Part 3

. . .When I said that the ELCA had been infiltrated by the environmental and animal rights movement, I wasn't making that up. I have serious concerns about the direction of the ELCA because. . .

ELCA Services Attack 'Bound Consciences' of those Who Uphold Biblical Teaching on Sexuality

. . .In leading or authorizing these “confessions,” ELCA synod leaders imply that they believe that those who uphold traditional Christian teaching are persisting in “sin” and in need of correction. . .

Multifaith and the Global Faith Forum, Part I

. . .During one of the main sessions, the facilitator explained that this research should lead to cooperative resourcing to help all our respective congregations. He suggested that we could jointly create, publish, and distribute resources to help congregations deal with faith development, growth, and other issues. . .

What Events Do Your Activity Fees Fund?

. . .A quick look at the budget for the Gustavus Student Senate, which controls allocations of activity fees for the school, showed that $1000 in activity fees at the school are going to finance a "Drag Show Performer" during "Coming Out Week. . ."

Proposed Social Statement on Genetics Plays Role in Cogregations' Votes to Leave ELCA

. . .Lutherans in America and around the world continue to marvel at the penchant of the ELCA to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars writing social statements that offend the members of ELCA congregations. . .

AZ Church Expelled for Holding Duel Membership With LCMC

Bishop Stephen S.Talmage, Grand Canyon Synod ELCA, sent a letter to synod pastors stating that Shepherd of the Hills, Fountain Hills, AZ was removed from synod rolls, December 11, 2010 because of their dual affiliation with the LCMC. . .

_Dr. Robert Benne: Lutheran Power Is in Christ, not Politics

“. . .The ELCA has not totally succumbed to this temptation,” the Roanoke professor said, “but it certainly seems that the Presiding Bishop spends more time commenting on every social and political issue under the sun than on the central mission of the church. What’s more, the church’s position on some issues – say, saving the world from global warming and telling the Israelis how they ought not defend themselves – is firmer than its commitment to classical Christian sexual ethics or to the Great Commission. . .”

Unraveling the ELCA

. . .When early in the formation process ELCA planners decided to impose a quota system to staff governing boards and fill church conventions, Neuhaus flatly said the Lutheran jig was up. The Lutheran merger enterprise had given up on serious theology and was adapting itself to a cultural fad, identity representation. . .

Christian Leaders Buy Into Muslim Vision

. . .Islam and Christianity, however, are radically different, as the following comparison shows. . .

A Refutation of the ELCA Social Statement on The Death Penalty
By Kenneth Lohr

. . .the social statement is crafty, illogical, implicitly heretical, and undermining to civil government. It should be rescinded, and the procedure for developing social statements revised. The fact that these documents are not coercive in their teaching authority should not be a license for them to contradict the Lutheran Confessions.

Part Three: Ecumenical Politics

. . .the ELCA developed a six-point strategic plan on the integration of faith-based organizing throughout the denomination, hoping “to produce a powerful force that can act as a real agent of social change. . .”

FALL OF THE ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America)

(touches on a wide range of ELCA issues including political policies in this blog). . . Every dollar you give to the ELCA, goes to support these beliefs. Not a single one of these beliefs is aligned with HOLY SCRIPTURE and THE WORD OF GOD!!!!

_Interfaith Organizing Initiative (IOI) A Brief History

. . . IOI Gathering of eight Faith Body Heads and over 60 congregation-based
organizing leaders, organizers, and allies at the Lutheran Center in Chicago, hosted by Bishop Hanson. New task forces launched: Denominational Colleagues Table, Racial Justice, Money for Organizing, Seminary strategy. . .

_Religious Left Pro-Censorship Campaign Hits Rough Water

. . .A campaign effectively to censor conservative voices on the airwaves and sponsored by a Religious Left coalition has been suddenly dropped. Sponsored by George Soros’ Open Society Institute and the ACORN-supporting Wallace Global Fund, the “So We Might See” campaign called for advertisers to stop supporting the Glenn Beck and Lou Dobbs programs, as well as the firing of Dobbs. . .

The Genetics Statement and The Authority of Faith Traditions over Scripture

. . .The Social Statement on Genetics states that, “the meaning of genetic knowledge and the debates about its use will be inadequately explored and morally dangerous without attention to the wisdom of faith traditions.” (Genetics, Faith and Responsibility, Lns. 375, 376, 378-382). . .

The pub. of (the ELCA) looks at the Creation Museum — and comes out swinging. (see point #6)

. . .If anything, the Lutheran piece shows once again the fundamental importance of presuppositions. If you reject the inerrancy of God’s Word from the beginning, you can make nearly any doctrine “compatible” with Christianity. . .

The Devil's Advocate

. . .The ELCA, in an effort to maintain their grip on the things of this world, while disregarding God’s law, have decided that man’s law can be used to their advantage. Following in the footsteps of their ecclesiastic bothers in the Episcopal Church, where church property belongs to the greater church organization, they have decided to attempt to seize the assets of churches that choose to leave. Those congregations attempting to break fellowship are taken to court in an effort to wrest whatever assets this greedy organization can take. . .
