Today I visited the first church I served way back in 1981 in Florida. It was a Biblical, Lutheran church but through the years it sadly and slowly went astray. The last ELCA Lutheran pastor there promoted the homosexual agenda and because finances were poor he ending up closing the doors of the church and selling it to a non-Lutheran evangelical church. That was about ten years. Today I worshipped there and I experienced moving worship, heard a wonderful, Biblical sermon and I noticed the good attendance. I went up to the pastor and told him the story of the original church and I quoted this verse as a reminder of what Jesus can do:
"Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent" (Revelation 2:5).
Please stop and say a prayer right now for your local church, that God would keep it faithful so that He will not have to take it away and give it to someone else.
In Jesus our Savior,
Pastor Tom Brock
