Minneapolis Lutheran pastors promote liberal politics, want to protect illegal immigrants

Below you will see a video of many Minneapolis pastors of the liberal Evangelical Lutheran Church in America protesting enforcement of immigration laws. Only one political point of view is presented, even though the ELCA says it loves “diversity“. You won’t hear one conservative perspective from the numerous pastors.

Some of the pastors in the video are practicing homosexuals and some are proponents of very radical theology. If you ever wonder whether the ELCA is about one-sided liberal politics, take a look at the below.

In one point the video is right, no human being is “garbage“. But we are all sinners in need of a savior, but that doesn’t come up in the video. The video is too busy promoting a certain viewpoint rather than bother with sharing the good news of Christ’s saving death and resurrection. Many liberal pastors no longer believe that Hell exists and they don’t believe people need to be saved. So instead of preaching the Gospel, they preach liberal politics.

The ELCA's plan has always been to dragoon pastors and parishioners into muzzled acquiescence to every trendy, world-approved sexual perversion promulgated as an edict from the ELCA's national and synod headquarters.

Vince Coglianese on his podcast has talked about the $8 billion Somalian scam in Minnesota. Tim Walz of course is a huge defender of this heist of taxpayer money. Any kickbacks involved? Hmmm. He is an ELCA person and like them, bows at the altar of diversity. The deceiver denomination strikes again. I have to think ELCA is a big reason MN is so screwed up.

It's no wonder the ELCA hirelings side with people who have broken this nation's laws to enter the country when they have flouted God's laws for decades and urged parishioners do do likewise.

Thankfully, apostasy is getting less and less attractive. Who needs to pay money to support a political, God-defying impastor and his/her moribund church when they can get the same politics and immoral counsel free from local and national media?

Outgoing Bishop Jim Dunlop, speaking to a gathered crowd about the state of the ELCA, revealed

** Over the last 10 years, the percentage of the smallest congregations with fewer than 50 people has doubled.
** 58% of ELCA congregations have fewer than 50 people.
** Congregations that worship with over 250 people in attendance decreased from 9% to 2% over the last eight years.
** From 2015 to 2023, they lost 834 congregations. Of these, 520 closed, 131 merged into another congregation, 142 left the ELCA, and 41 were removed from the ELCA.
** The ELCA ordains about 200 pastors a year, while 400 pastors retire each year. Currently, there are over 600 ELCA churches seeking a pastor.
** 45% of ELCA congregations cannot afford a full-time pastor.

Dunlop notes the changes that have occurred over the last decade:
"When I began as bishop working with congregations, my goal was, and we met it almost every time, was we gave three candidates to every congregation. We are not being able to do that anymore. And sometimes I’m saying to call committees, 'I need you to interview this person. It’s the only person I have. And if you don’t interview them, they’re going to go somewhere else really quickly.' And that’s kind of where we are at the moment in some ways."

The advocacy for our Somali immigrant neighbors, and others targeted by ICE, need not end. Adopt a Deportee! Now! Picture exchanges, holiday cards, gifts, food, clothing and cash can continue to bless our beloved neighbors even after they have been sent back to their country of origin! Christ Himself demonstrates how we need to throw ourselves fully into this effort, as He teaches us in Matthew 4:6
